Excellent!
This is an amazing book! It is very optimistic in tone while also recognizing the seriousness of what we deal with when we are afraid we might not be able to conceive. The book is very very clearly written and provides clear instructions on how to implement her recommendations. I found that sitting with the book and a notebook and really working the book like back in school helped me have a very clear understanding of what I needed to do.I'm also a big fan of "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and between these two books I came away with an excellent understanding of what was happening with my cycle. In fact, when I spoke to my midwife about what I was observing she was extremely impressed with my level of knowledge and gave me the names of fertility textbooks that they use in midwife school!About midway through this book I did decide to see an acupuncturist rather than just rely on the acupressure points that she describes so I can't speak to how well things would have worked based only on the book. But I am able to speak to my acupuncturist intelligently about what is going on in my cycle. And in just about one month of going to him I am seeing very impressive results in my charting.Personally, I believe very strongly in my body's ability to heal and correct itself and I believe that my body wants to operate optimally and will if given the right tools. This book has given me some of the tools.

It sure is helping me (Edited to add success)
***ETA: I did more acupuncture but again ran out of money. So, going back to Ms. Lewis' book, I did my points with a point stimulator and followed my herbal routine along with practicing meditation and guided imagery. And in May 2006, I had my third and permanent positive pregnancy test. I continued my meditation and took it super easy. While my pregnancy was a bit difficult due to an incompetent cervix, I am thrilled to say that this January my beautiful, healthy, sweet little boy celebrated his first birthday. He was born just 5 months shy of my 41st birthday!***First let me say, that I've been struggling with infertility for over 3 years. I went through two failed IVF cycles, a couple of failed IUI's and for what? NOTHING!! I had started my journey at the age of 35 and couldn't believe that I was already done for when it came to having children.I will admit that my first book was Inconceivable by Julia Indichova (that led me to wheatgrass to help my FSH levels). I then purchased Alice Domar's "Conquering Infertility" to help me get in the right state of mind. Finally, I came to The Infertility Cure.I did the acupuncture for some time but finally my funds simply gave way. Instead I relied on her illustrations to choose points for acupressure. I also did the questionnaire and used it to self-diagnose for herbal remedies. I did a great deal of research on each herb to ensure I understood all implications (I would strongly suggest seeing an herbalist to ensure you are choosing correctly).Well, in August of 2004, I found myself holding a positive home pregnancy test! After over three years of trying to conceive, we had actually succeeded, on our own, with no medical intervention! After spending $21,000 in infertility treatments, I was able to find success in a book that was less than $25.00.Unfortunately, my pregnancy didn't last. I lost it just two short weeks after I saw my positive. But I didn't lose hope. After all, I had finally moved a step past where I had been for so long. I continued to practice Ms. Lewis' suggestions and found myself pregnant yet again this past December. Again, I am losing that one as I write this but I've not done any of her recommendations for losses.I am going to make the investment once again for acupuncture treatments. And again, I am going to re-read my book. This time, I am going to pay extra attention to the section on miscarriages. I've no doubt that I will succeed, and with the help of this book! I wish I could afford one of the getaways at Grove Park. But since I can't I'll accept this as a close enough second.I'm going to have my baby! I have no doubt about it!

Great Book and a Wonderful Introduction to TCM for Infertility
I bought this book after I became frustrated with what fertility drugs were doing to my body. After testing I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility and told I only have a 2% chance of conceiving without fertility treatments. My first IUI ended in a blighted ovum and my 2nd IUI gave me cysts on my ovaries and a ruptured left tube due to an ectopic pregnancy. I wanted to explore other options and am so glad that I found this book. I love that TCM aims to help cure your "unexplained infertility" by balancing your body whereas the fertility doctors just try to work around your infertility. I agree with others that it can be tough to try to diagnose and treat yourself using the book, but honestly I didn't even try. I wasn't even half way through the book when I decided I needed to find a TCM clinic that specialized in infertility. I have been getting accupuncture for 2 months now, have been taking the chinese herbs they give me, following the diet to the best of my ability and doing infertility yoga for over 2 months now and I feel great. I am not pregnant yet, but I plan to use what I learned in this book to prepare my body and if I am not pregnant in a couple months I will go back to the fertility doctor and use the TCM in conjuction with IVF in hopes that it helps. This book gave me the information I needed to decide that TCM was the perfect next step for me to assist in trying to conceive.

Very informative
This book contains valuable information for everyone like me, struggling to conceive. Conventional doctors don't really help us cleanse our bodies and our diets to improve egg quality for healthy embryos. This book helps fill the gap. I also found Ubiquinol helpful. My first retrieval resulted in embryos with all abnormal chromosomes. After taking supplements, vitamins and some herbs ( I didn't fully follow the herbal regimen) along with the acupuncture for about 3 months, I had 2 euploid embryos, I'm 39 so that's a blessing.I'm very glad I read reviews posted by others, seeking advice from a professional acupuncturist was necessary for me in addition to reading the book and following the diet. My acupuncturist gave me the same advice as suggested in the book such as diet, herbs( I was light on the herbs and chose tincture) and an acupuncture regimen.

Amazingly deep and rich book.Opened us to new vistas and now we understand the problem at a more intricate level than before.Working on lifestyle and diet changes as of now...will then start with the 2 major deficiency highlighted by the questionnaire in the book. But before answering that, plz plz read the earlier 4 chapters to have the context.

A very compassionate person
I didn't know if I would get much out of the book but I cherish it already and I haven't even finished it. The woman is very compassionate and understanding. She understands the pain you must be going through and gives you some hope that things will be okay. The way she phrases things can be quite beautiful as well.I found the book to have quite a great deal of great information on the study of acupuncture for fertility. Most of it was easy to understand other then a few parts. With this book I have some renewed hope that things will be okay. Thank you.I loved reading this book in paperback format. It was easier to read with the way the book is designed.
