A great resource
An excellent book for the layman to learn at their own pace the nature and intricacies of Java Script. I began reading this book knowing only the basics and left feeling much more confident in my skills. This book takes the complex and simplifies it so the world of JavaScript opens up much easier to the reader. This is an excellent educational tool and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to begin programming.

Does it again !
This is a follow-up book to JavaScript: Programming Basics for Absolute Beginners. TO match the other guides I've read from Nathan Clark, this one is another great one. As always he makes it simple. Programming languages can be very intimidating at times. BUt with this book and all his others, i have had no trouble refreshing my self on C+ and now Java. If your an expert or trying to get your toes wet I recommend this book.

Typos are causing problems throughout the book
The publication covers the necessary topics in an efficient way - this, I like. However, there are many typos and errors throughout the book. I know just enough JS to get by in a pinch and I purchased this series of books to gain a clearer understanding of certain areas of the language. I keep hitting up Google to verify that these are indeed typos. In a coding language where syntax, case, and spelling are all critical... it’s kind of a big deal.

Informative
Concisely written with practical examples , this book will take you through loops, functions and into arrays. Explaining functions with expressions and constructors in clearly laid out examples made JavaScript understandable. This book is probably best to keep handy as a reference. It is a practical guide.

Intermediate guide to Javescript
Recommended to readers that are interested in learning practical coding, who already read the first book in this series. This is the second book. Many practical examples are included to keep the reader engaged with in a practical way. A good reference guide to keep at hand!

Very Simple and Easy Details
In this day and age, I am definitely trying to become more computer tech savvy. This guide was very detailed and very informative. I came across this author and book at random while looking for a good book that detailed Java...I think I will see what other guides this author may have!I highly recommend.

but still easy to understand for a beginner
This guide is a continuation from the beginner's guide. It covers numerous JavaScript topics that are more advanced, but still easy to understand for a beginner. Overall it packs a lot of good information.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS BOOK.
Apologies for the capitals but I cant emphasize the point enough. I was looking for a book / set of books which could provide me with a good grounding in Javascript and fill in some of the gaps. I have some experience and understanding of some other programming languages. I didn’t have any time to do any research, so picked this one (and the other two in the series) somewhat randomly from an Amazon search. I bought and downloaded the kindle versions. What a mistake. The books lack any real substance. They has been padded out with example code, large chunks of which don’t change from example to example. They are supposed to showcase the topic at hand, but in many cases represent the bare minimum and don't highlight nuiances and interesting features. The topics are marginally more complicated than the first book in this series, but the explanations are superficial. Many of the other computing books I have read appear to deal with similar topics much more concisely, and I end up with a much better and more comprehensive understanding. As noted in my review of the first book in the series, I thought that my negative opinion of these books was perhaps because they weres aimed at an audience with less knowledge of programming. However, from an absolute beginner’s perspective, there would be so many unanswered questions. In life, the majority of times you get what you pay for. The kindle version was cheap, but it wasn’t even worth that and it was a complete waste of time.
