The Venus De Milo is a famous Greek sculpture of the end of the Hellenistic Era (around 130-100 BC.) Which could be the goddess Aphrodite (Venus for the Romans). Discovered in 1820 on the island of Milos (Milo is an ancient form of the name of this island), hence its name, it is currently kept at the Musée du Louvre, Paris. This statue dates from the Hellenistic era (ancient Greece), around 100 b.c. It was originally been wrongly attributed to Praxitèle but an inscription on the base makes it clear that it could be & # x153; of Alexander of Antioche.
