Invincible Marine 1200-Pound Trailer Winch with Straps

The description of the winch sounds pretty good and the photos look nice, too.But the strap attaches to the winch drum with a bolt that's well outside the drums's diameter. So as the strap wraps around the drum the shape of the drum becomes eccentric or egg shaped.In the case of my trailer, the winch attaches to the post with two welded-on studs with nuts. However the strap on the egg shaped drum hits the rear stud before the strap is fully wound on to the drum. In no time this would result in a damaged strap.Parts of the winch assembly are zinc plated but other parts, including the drum, have a "rust resistant" finish. I think that's a euphemism for what everyone else simply calls "paint". But paint doesn't sound as impressive as "rust resistant finish".I suppose I could space the winch up, but there are other winches without this design flaw. I can't recommend it.
