Expensive but they work well.

Not at all worth it
I'm giving this product one star because they have jacked the price of their product by six dollars in the last six months. $13 a piece is too much. Pet Homing Tag Collar Cover/Holder 4 Pack is what you're looking for. Put your locator in the finger of a rubber glove tired off slide it into one of these and you're done. It's also much more waterproof then the more expensive covers.

Perfect for small dogs!
These were the answer for getting the loc8tor tags on my dachshunds! They are too close to the ground to leave it hanging, even with a weather protector. But these have kept the tags fully functional even after they've been outside in a heavy rain! They're unnecessary for a large dog, of course (and wouldn't fit their collar).

I hate to be negative but it only works part time
We wanted the plus version but it was not in stock. I hate to be negative but it only works part time. The hand held device needs to be BIGGER, as well as the pin-point lites. I think we will be returning the product as we opted on building a outdoor, fenced in area, with walks with a leash.Thank youMonica5299@msn.com

Fragile, but there aren't any better alternatives
My first one broke up after putting it on a few different colars. They aren't very strong at all. I bought the replacements, way overpriced, but there aren't any better alternatives. They should be about $5.00 each. My cat virtually destroyed the first replacement in one day by scratching his neck with his foot. I was able to salvage it by winding green electrical tape around it. This adds stiffness, weight, and bulk, but it was the best solution. In fairness, my other cat's tag cover has survived better, he's not as hard on it. Having said all that, they are light, they do hold the tag securely so it won't come off, and they do provide protection from moisture. They are flexible, which makes them comfortable for the cat (though the electrical tape ruins that). My main wish is that they were less expensive, and more durable, though that would add to weight and stiffness.

The tag is too big to put on a cat collar and the software is buggy at best. So I decided to try this
I already have a GPS tracking device that uses a phone app for locating items. The tag is too big to put on a cat collar and the software is buggy at best. So I decided to try this. We live on a 25 acre watershed and I have 8 cats. I put the two tags on the youngest cats who are wanderers. The youngest stays closer to home, so this has made it much easier to locate her and at least get within calling distance so she comes. The other cat is trickier because she wanders farther back in the watershed after dark. Often I don't even get ping back. You have to be within about 100 yards to get the tag and handset to pair so it has been frustrating. Even a change of batteries didn't help me get a signal at a longer range. But at least I can easily verify she isn't in the house or yard before setting out to look for her without looking under every bed first.

The Loc8tor Plus is a great device and I always use these splash covers to attach them to a cat collar (the quick release kind so that it comes off if it gets snagged on something). I've used it for years to help me track one of my cats in particular. Realistically you get less than 100m range when you're dealing with an environment with trees and houses but still, with a bit of walking around the neighborhood you can pretty much always find your cat. In one case, my cat somehow got locked in a neighbor's shed two streets over. There is just no way I would have found her without the Loc8tor.

I ordered this product as pictured, but this is not the product I received. I received the silicon covers that have an eyelet attached to one end instead. Very unhappy I received something different than what I paid for but cannot use.
