Fox 40Pearl Whistles, Blue

I purchased this to use for coaching a swim team. Its loud and piercing enough to hear from the other side of the pool, even over the water and swim noise. Good quality!

While it was slightly more expensive than I would’ve liked, given that it is a single formed piece of plastic, ultimately I think this will be worth the cost. The whistle is definitely loud enough to be heard across a distance - so much so, in fact, that I have to plug my own ears when blowing it. Because it is entirely plastic it is easy to clean and sanitize, and I don’t think it will be easily broken. My previous whistle was colored metal and less expensive, but the color started flaking off, which was rather disturbing. I used the metal one for many years, and I think the new one will hold up over time as well. I would recommend this for a playground and coaching uses.

I don't think this model is as durable as the original really loud one. This is the second one that I've had. First one cracked and broke on mouthpiece (but this took about 3 years) this one is already showing a gap in the side where the side of the body meets the bottom curve of the whistle. It's only been a few months. This was the third one. The second to replace the broken one didn't produce the dual sound and was returned. My original black one thats been on the same lanyard as these broken ones has been fine for a good 10 years! It shows wear but the whistle is intact. I'm loyal to fox40 because of the information and demos on their products but might be looking for another pea-less whistle brand soon.

There’s nothing negative I can say about this whistle. I used to use one when I was a lifeguard. I purchased this one to put in a survival kit. It’s a great signaling tool.

The whistle is great. The problem was it didn’t come with a lanyard as shown in the pictures. This is the only reason I only gave it a 4 star rating. Other than a little false advertisement the whistle is awesome.

Line dancing

I was so excited to get this whistle as I am a new teacher and all the other teachers have whistles for recess duty. When I got the package I was bursting with excitement. Then, when I tried to blow the whistle, I lost all excitement. I could barely get it to make a sound! You have to blow so hard and even then it sounds more like you're blowing air. I had a dollar store whistle that I had just got the day before and it works so much better for me.

As a PE Teacher having to use a whistle all through out my day I have found this one to be the best value for my money. I love the colors and the quality. I will continue to purchase this whistle as needed. But this one is still going strong for quite some time now. Color doesn't rub off either.

Do not waste your money on this. Horrendous sounding whistle- very high pitch even though the packaging states it has 'distinctive lower tone'. So disappointed, not worth £5 in the slightest.
