Zafarani Reserve Basmathi Rice 10-Pounds

The first bag of Zafarani was given to me by a relative. The second bag I bought here. This is the best rice that I have ever tasted. The secret is in the aging process. The rice is aged for a year before being made available for sale.This Basmati is the longest-grained rice in the world. I have had grains of rice up to one inch long after cooking with this brand. The typical prepared grain is 5/8 to 3/4 of an inch long.I have eaten a lot of different types of rice, having grown up and lived most of my life in South Louisiana and South Texas. I have put down many, many meals of both Cajun and Mexican food, which are notorious for many rice dishes. I can for sure, that in my experience, no other rice tastes as well as Zafarani.

If you like Basmati, we hope you will love this brand as much as we do. This is our 3rd bag. The quality, taste and length have been consistent. Very flavorful.The cooking instructions on the bag work well. When we are cooking for just the two of us, we normally cook 1 cup of rice, starting by putting the cup of dry rice in a colander, and rinse the talc off at least five times, and then set the colander of rinsed rice into a bowl of cool water and let it soak for at least 60 minutes and then cook it is a covered pot with a cup of water for 30 minutes. After cooking, and rice is sitting in the pot, we remove the cover, towel off the condensation from the inside of the lid, and recover the pot (repeating this every few minutes) about 4 or 5 times. Then fluff the rice and leave it in the covered pot.Even with the shipping cost added, the rice per pound is lower than the 1 or 2 pound bags of basmati in the market. This seller has consistently delivered a lot faster than their projected times.

Best basmati I e ever had. Use a zorijushi rice cooker to make it! If you want a tasty version substitute chicken broth for water. Don't forget to wash rice!

We fix rice quite often but I must say this rice is amazing. I've never had such a quality, flavorful rice as this!

I've tried a few different types of rice, but my favorite has always been white basmati. This rice is great! I used it for stirfrys, by itself, and plain with just a little bit of different sauces. It's a great staple, and this is quality rice.

This is by far the best kind of rice I have found for cooking.Of course there are those who don't understand the difference between Jasmine rice or Basmati rice or Risotto rice and end up making a mess of things, anyone who says this rice is mooshy should look inward to their inability as a cook. It's you, it's not the rice!

Product is great...packaging was horrible!

This is an unusually fragrant basmati rice. Better tasting than other Indian basmati rices - and utterly different from anything grown in California that is labeled basmati Rice. Highly recommended.

I have tried many different brands of Basmati Rice, most purchased from Amazon. The cooked rice grains are very long and the flavor delicate and nutty, just as it should be for Basmati. I have I have tried Tilda (my least favorite as it was the 'cleanest' and more western packaged), Royal was excellent, as was Himalayan Pride, but my very favorite was Arya Supreme - having the strongest basmati rice fragrance and taste, although there were some reviews complaining about the packaging - an issue I did not have. I can recommend this rice, as well as the other's I have listed.

First bag I got was great--very fragrant and long grains. Second and third bags tasted worse than Trader Joe's rice....

Good quality, great quantity!!! My mom is a rice snob, and she raved about this bag (and hijacked it from my apartment too)!!! I highly recommend this, and t was shipped and delivered perfectly too. :)

I never liked rice until I tried basmati....This is good rice, made it many times and its so good you can eat it alone. .
