It’s a good book indeed… I’ll give 5 stars without no doubts if it was more sound explained, so I recommend it just to advanced students and sensei’s only, because is not a simple reading, needing previous experience and I think, it lacks, a little bit, more of photos to clear exemplify what the author’s are saying, particularly in the Kumite pattern’s . Anyway, everybody doing from Kyokushin or off shot styles will find nice stuff here to improve their knock down techniques. Osu!

A must have for all full contact karate budokas
This is a really good book for all full contact karate practitioners. From the very basics (kihon), which almost all karate styles share in common, to training combinations with partner, heavy bag and pads combinations and some self defense applications, all sprinkled with some karate philosophy and a seriously good theoretical approach. The techniques depicted in this book might be familiar to someone training in Ashihara or Enshin (as it obviously takes from Sabaki by Ninomiya and Fighting Karate by Ashihara), but for someone in the other families of full-contact karate (Shidokan, Ku-Do, Kyokushin, Shinkyokushin, etc) this book provides a variety of techniques and training strategies which could be very useful when you have to stand toe-to-toe with a bigger and stronger opponent. In summary this is a good book to have for all karateka not just kyokushin fighters. The photos are big and in color which is great when comparing with similar books where photos tend to be too small and in b&w.

Excellent
I would recommend this book to others martial arts adepts who doesn't deal with Ashihara or Kyokushinkai karate. Buy it with no hesitation. This book contains so many photos with such great explanations that I am really impressed with it. Especially this is good one for those who spent couple years with basic trainings or for those who just started to train others.I like this book because of so many matrix that help you to arrange self training or to arrange training for particular groups of karatekas. So, there are hints how to create a proper mindset therefor make training interesting, tough and to create proper skills in students. For me this book was and still is kind of fresh breath.
