Lots of good info for a beginner like me
Great book! I have read other books that did not provide near the insight or explanation as this one did! My only disappointment is a suggestion on buying IKEA as a start. When I looked to purchase it is not available anywhere to buy! Anyway looking forward to getting started.

Around in circles
This book beats around the bush with these constant contradictions of different systems, leading the reader to ask more questions, the pictures suck, they look like he hired a 3rd grader to draw the images of different hydroponic systems.this book is very broad and doesn't show what it will really take to grow, maintain and troubleshooting of the system. I'm definitely buying a more detailed book plus utube helps

This book (in my humble opinion) holds back from telling how.
Although the title is 'beginners guide' so I wasnt expecting huge detail, there is unfortunately no more information in this book that you couldn't get by watching a few Youtube videos on the subject. I appreciate its a cheap book but I don't believe it gives sufficient information to actually get you started at all. More detail is needed on how to mix nutrients, tips on how to get success, tips on how not to go wrong, these obvious things are all missing. Hydroponics is not rocket science, anybody can do it if you are simply told how. This book (in my humble opinion) holds back from telling how.

Generally clear and easy to understand
Generally clear and easy to understand. My only (slight) reservation is that it is written for the North American market. Much of what it says is applicable everywhere, but some of the products and so forth that it mentions would not be available to the European reader, or at least not so under the names used here. I think that the American trend to hydroponic cultivation is more highly developed than it is here, so this is not too surprising, but if we are to develop its full potential (which I believe to be great) for the European amateur gardener, then there is a need for books like this to be produced with a more international tone.Brian Wood
