ProntoTec 7" Android 4.4 KitKat Tablet PC, Cortex A8 1.2 GHz Dual Core Processor,512MB / 4GB,Dual Camera,G-Sensor (White)

I bought seven of these based on the ratings. I feel this product should have a higher rating for these reasons:FIRST: PRICE is affordable. You cant walk into best buy or any store and buy a tablet for this price. You just can't.2nd: I bought these products as gifts to some friends who are just beginning to learn the tablet world and what apps are. This is great for the basic internet use and games.Third: I would recommend this product to anyone who just wants a tablet to surf the net, facebook, skype, watch netflix.. I mean thats what we do on our apple products anyways so why pay sooooo much when you can get the same thing for a cheaper price??

I recently purchased this tablet in order to play some videos during a very long road trip. We weren't in a position to spend a lot of money and I was really looking for the cheapest thing that would work. I was skeptical that the audio and visual from the videos would play smoothly but I wasn't disappointed. The battery life isn't the longest but it isn't the shortest either. It last about 3 hours playing videos the entire time. You aren't supposed to use it while it is charging so that could turn some people off too. The screen isn't as sensitive as more expensive tablets but I have managed just fine. Even though I originally purchased it for a road trip I seem to be using it every day just to check emails, browse the web, pay bills, and to shop. The volume isn't the loudest but it isn't the softest either. You can plug in head phones if you need to. You can even plug this into a more modern TV and stream videos from YouTube or other websites.I am giving it 5 stars not because it is the best tablet on the market, but for the price it is an excellent little device.

UPDATE: The second tablet that I ordered had good batteries and the soft keys functioned properly. Developer options still missing and unable to activate. Have no ability to change USB mode when connected to PC. SuperU pre-installed as a system app might help prevent unauthorized system modification. Also noticed that they had removed the HDMI port from the product description. The one I got still had it but the black version that I had to replace did not so I am assuming that they will be phasing out the old version for the newer one that does not have an HDMI port.ORIGINAL REVIEW: The battery discharges from a full charge in less than 5 minutes. Android KitKat is misconfigured on the tablet that I received. The soft keys (navigation bar) cannot be modified. The camera app and the google play app are permanently positioned and I am unable to move or replace them. Also could not access developer options to disable root access. I tried clicking on build number several times to make it appear on the settings menu but nothing happens even after seeing the notification saying "you are now a developer". Super user for all apps enabled by ProntoTec which allows malware from in game ads to easily infect tablet. Mobogenie started installing games without permission within a minute of going online via WiFi.I am returning the tablet and ordering another one. I own the black version of the same model and it has none of the problems that I have with the white one. I will update this review once I have the new tablet. Hoping for the best.

I am so very unhappy with this devise. Two weeks after the allowed return time the android quit working entirely..It was only holding a charge for an hour..I didn't know better or would have returned it before..Last night I was loading a game..got it loaded and put to sd card to free up space..played the game for 5 minutes and the android shut itself off and now will not turn on..will not take a charge..I am just stuck with a useless piece of plastic. It didn't cost a fortune but you would think a Google Kit-Kat should last longer than 6 weeks...I might never purchase from seller again...might not be their fault but I do not like getting lemons and then having to throw it in the trash! I will purchase another from Amazon..I might even buy from this seller..I just wish there was a way to know what happened! Does anyone have a clue why this would happen..I am new to devices like this.

I chose this tablet because of the price. I bought two of them for my younger children just as an introduction tablet. So far after a month of use the tablets are performing very well. The kids use them for gaming and so far have not shown any speed issues with the games they play.5 stars for the tabletThe seller was phenomenal to deal with. After ordering the product I received an email confirmation from amazon. Then I received an email from the seller telling me the tablet was on back order. This disappointed me because we were hoping to have the tablets before a planned vacation. This would help keep the kids occupied for the long road trip. In that email they described how the tablet was on back order but that they would send an upgraded version instead. Who does that?
