When my veterinarian discovered that my dog had sheared off a carnassial, she had to go in and have it extracted. While she was knocked out, they cleaned her teeth. The vet sent home a sample of these and told me to wait until her gums were fully healed before feeding it. Supposedly these chews will help keep the teeth clean. I was afraid that they might be super hard and break more teeth, but they are easily chewable by my dog. She loves them! They have a mild non-offensive odor and so far have not stained my carpet. Be careful if your dog tends to try and gulp things whole or in large chunks. Could be a choking hazard. Luckily, my dog takes it slow and easy. Still, she swallows small chunks and I'm not sure how much actual chewing is going on. She will chew them both on the unaffected side, and the side where she had the tooth extracted. Two months since her surgery and so far her breath is fresh. She begs for a chew every day. Gave them four stars because I do not know if the dental benefits will be as stated on the package. Will change up if they work.

Great product

My dog loves these treats and it helps her breath a lot. She used to have what I call 'Dracula Breath' but its way better now. (In the novel 'Dracula', he is described as having the breath of rotting meat)

These are wonderful treats, even for my senior poodles who don't have all their teeth. Firm, but not jagged or too hard and help with their teeth. They beg for them every morning.

My guys (aged 5 and 13) liked them, chewed them right up. But they're too pricy for me on a regular basis, hence only three stars for what could be a five-star review. Unfortunate.
