A long hair cat was foisted upon our family about two years ago. The idea of paying for a groomer dampened my innate cheapness and I groomed her with an old hair cutting tool I had used on my son 15 years ago. The human version of this did not work well, it was loud and while it did get hair off my girl, she didn't like it and it was a wrestling match.So, I went ahead and purchased the right tool for the job. I read the reviews and this model was much cheaper than any other model out there AND it had more attachments. I liked the idea of cordless and it claimed it was quiet and it had stainless steel and ceramic blades. It also appeared you could adjust the length of the blades and their length from the unit. Waterproof too, but why you would want to introduce water into a cat trimming exercise, is beyond me.I got the package today and decided to try it out solo since there is no one else home. I have never done this job solo. First impressions out of the box, is that it is a beautiful looking cutter. The controls are intuitive and I did not have to read the instructions (I read them in the description online the day before when I purchased the trimmer). The blade adjustment is well-designed and intuitive as well. The plastic length pieces slide on, a little different design than the old human model I tried. The best part is that it had a 47% battery level when I turned it on do I was able to use it out of the box.I went and found my cat and then turned on the trimmer. It was quiet. Yes, the cat turned her head, put I petted her while she lay there, with the cutter buzzing in my hand. Then I went to work, using the cutter from head to tail. I used the 6mm plastic piece which was the second smallest length there was.I was blown away. Seriously blown away. The trimmer flowed smooth and the hair came off with ease. I did not have to cut against the grain, the hair just came of in waves. She immediately rolled on her back and showed me her belly which let me know then, that she was comfortable with it. I was able to trim her belly hair with no issues. She started to fidget when my other idiot animals came to investigate, and I had to grab her and hold her with one hand while trimming with the other. The tool flat-out works. I was able to remove copious amounts of hair with ease, all by myself. It was the most hair I have ever taken off of her and it took half the time. Seriously, I did not think this inexpensive cutter would be this good, but it is.She did not sit still do I could trim her entirely, but I will get her when she is eating her dinner, because she is a food hound. She eats like a dog. She looks better than she ever has and my experience cutting her hair was the best I ever had. I will never pay for a groomer again, even though I never have paid for one in my life.My only regret is that I did not buy this earlier. Alas.*****Update*****I fed my cat that night and finished the job easily. She sat and ate and I gave her a trim. The next day she had a pedicure and I used the trimmer to get the long hair around her paws. The plastic blade protector I had on was too long so I used the scissors and they worked fine. They are not the best scissors I ever used but they got the job done. The razor is truly one of the best products I have used in a long time.

I bought this shaver 2.5 years ago to shave the hair around my cats bottom. 4 quick swipes and done. I have used this MAYBE 6 times in total so you do the math.Last week after charging it wouldn’t stay on. I pressed the power button and it turned right back off. I held the power button down and it turned right back off.I know it can’t be charged on an adapter over 7 volts, and it wasn’t. I’ve used the same knock off iPhone charger each time I’ve charged this thing with no issues.It is otherwise awesome. Comes with a ton of quality accessories - even a great pair of scissors - and is not loud so kitty is calm. It’s lightweight and easily manipulated. Does a quick, good job.They have a contact collars in the box so I emailed and told them this. They immediately responded (less than 12 hours) to say they would send a new one. I got it today and immediately shaved kitty. I asked for help with troubleshooting but they just immediately said don’t worry, we will send you a new one. That is amazing service to go with this quality product. Buy it. You have absolutely nothing to lose.

My 4yr old medium haired cat likes being combed around his neck and chin. He’s become much less tolerant of combing other places which creates this cycle of knotted/ matted hair, need to comb, he gets irritated and we stop. My sons and I have tried to cut the knots out and have been moderately successful with that, but when the matted hair gets close to my cat’s skin it’s impossible and just too scary to try for fear of cutting him. Out of desperation we used the trimmer side of my son’s electric shaver (the kind with the round heads) and that got some knots but not enough to hold my cat down (the razor was loud).Out of a “what do I have to lose” attitude I started looking for hair trimmers. I initially searched in just hair cutting section and did not think of pet grooming trimmers. I stumbled on this trimmer, read the reviews, and thought “right! My cat will bolt!” I was going to wait until my son woke up to have him help me hold my cat still and in place, but I decided to give it a go on my own. Well....I must say I’m impressed. The noise level IS quieter than “human trimmers” although I wouldn’t say as quiet as I thought. But, it is quieter and still (doesn’t shake/vibrate) which helped. My cat didn’t move at first. He kind of looked back at me, but more out of curiosity. Since his hair is pretty long the initial swipe was more topical, not close to his skin or the severe mats. I thought his demeanor will change once I get to those areas, which happened somewhat but not bad. He seemed more “over it” and would stand to walk away and lay down somewhere else, but never bolted or ran away - not once. I ended up giving him a breather of about 5 min then approached him again and do a little more. This was especially helpful when getting the matted hair close to the skin. I’d lift the patch away from his skin as gently as possible and then I’d pinch the area between skin and base of knot and chip away at the knot until it was gone.I didn’t shave all of him. I just did the areas that were so knotted a comb wouldn’t do it and scissors were too dangerous. He looks like a toddler who got ahold of some scissors and started hacking away at their hair the day before school pictures. But....he’s knot free and neither of us are no worse for wear.I’d recommend these and would purchase again.

Have to say, it took me a little time to figure out how to use it. Once I get hang of it, it becomes super easy. My dog would not stay still, so I have to follow him to get job done. the noise level is not an issue for my dog. Once you charge it full, it can last quite long.The package comes with a scissor which is pretty sharp, easy to cut......with this set, I can save all the cost going to a groomer. the pictures are before and after.

Bought to trim our long haired guinea pigs. Very easy to use. Cuts well. Not too noisy at all. Very happy. Bonus that it comes with scissors too
