This electronic candle lighter works pretty well. I noticed that I need to hold the electric arc against the wick of the candle longer than I do with a butane lighter to get the wick to light, but that isn't a huge adjustment. The convenience factor of being able to recharge this lighter is worth it, plus it is honestly pretty cool to see the arc doing its work.The only issue I have with it (and it may just be my individual unit) is that it emits an almost inaudible high-pitched whining noise when the arc is lit. At first, it scared the absolute heck out of my cat and sent him running. He still reacts to it somewhat (not nearly as badly) and I can tell he's bothered on some level by the sound, which honestly bugs me because I don't like startling my poor cat each time I light a candle in the same room as him. It's not a massive gripe but still something to be aware of if you have pets.

These surprisingly versatile wind-proof igniters are quite amazing. Our piezo-ignited gas stovetop stopped igniting long ago, and these little plasma lighters work at the light touch of a button. Very easy on arthritic hands and foolproof. Very useful and inexpensive.

This product is great. I absolutely love a lighter that for one does not require fuel and that can attach to my computer or wall outlet to charge. Now first off keep this device out of children's hands. It definitely will start a fire pretty easily and can cause burns so be aware of that! There is a nice safety latch on the bottom of the button so you cannot just turn it on by pressing the button. You need to press the latch up and then you can power it on. One thing I like about this flex lighter is that it has a battery indicator! So you know exactly how much power you have. That being said, when it arrived it was about 75% charge. It is recharged via micro USB cable which can be a little old but it does a decent job being plugged into your computer if you wanted to use that to charge. You can also run it on a portable battery if you really needed to. Please remember that the battery should last for a very long time without recharge since you should not be needing to continuously have it on. It will light things very quickly. It has a bendable neck which makes it a lot easier for lighting candles which is really like. I hated having to turn the candle sideways and trying to light it and may get burned. One thing I will note is that if you are using this to light prayer sticks and such only light one at a time as the flames may damage the prongs. The surface is made of material that is easily scratched so be aware of that. This product is nice and i wouldn't exactly say it is pocket friendly you can bend the head to put it in your pocket if you wanted to. Overall I think this product is great. It makes for an easier lighting for sure.

Saw a similar product at a friend's party, researched on Amazon & ordered this. Always struggled with the butane bbq lighters and was so happy to see an easier product to light candles, grills, etc. Since getting this it is the only one I will use. This would make a great gift. It is so simple turn it on, click to light. Have a geat deal of struggles with rt hand with other style lighters, this one is so easy & simple to use wish I had seen it years ago. Remember to switch back to off once lit.

We've tried a few different brands / styles of these arc lighters in the under $20 price range and so far this has been the best. We primarily use it for lighting votive candles, and the other ones we've tried start misfiring from wax contact at wicks and constantly needed to be cleaned every 2 or 3 times, whereas this one has been used to light over 50 candles in recent weeks without a single misfire and no wax/wick issues.PROS:- Fires every time! No need to clean it every use, no wax problem. BIG PRO!- Super easy to use - the on/off switch and fire button are both perfectly placed / easy to press.- The flexible extension makes it easy to light candles in odd shaped / tall holders.- Very light-weight and easy to hold for any size hand. Slightly larger diameter than an average ink pen.- Easy to charge and charges very fast (less than 30 minutes for full charge in our experience).- The blue LED's make it very easy to tell when it's time to re-charge.- Excellent value for the price (was around $13 at the time we purchased.CONS:- Somewhat short battery life if you light a lot of candles frequently.However, that one "con" is really offset by how fast it charges and all of the "pros". It simply makes sense - small / light-weight device means small battery inside.WOULD GIVE THIS 4.75 STARS IF WE COULD! Very happy with this arc lighter and will be buying another to have on hand as a spare in case of accidental damage or loss.
