Replacement Keyboard for Dell inspiron 13 5368 5378 5370 5379 5568 5578 5579, inspiron 13 7368 7370 7373 7375 7378 7460 7560 7570 7572 7573 7579 Series Laptop with Backlit US Layout

Worked up the courage and installed this keyboard today. The k/board is deep, behind everything. Need to remove motherboard, SSD, I/O Board, disconnect the display, etc.. Took photos to help reassembly in case my memory of screw holes or connectors failed.At the first boot up, the keyboard backlight flashed a couple times, but the monitor remained blank. Pressed the power button again, and it booted. Bios forgot what time it was, but connecting to the internet fixed that. Second reboot was flawless. No need to adjust, change or do anything...A thin silicone keyboard cover is on it now ($7). Different feel, but I can get used to it. I plan to peel the old k/board apart and see what's going on in there. Probably some moisture is trapped between the layers of plastic.

This keyboard could not be used since it did not include a palm rest.

This keyboard is not compatible with the Inspiron 15 5568 laptop. With the 5568 model, the keyboard is integrated with the palmrest sonthe entire palmrest needs to be replaced. Wish I was able to check before ordering however I didn't. Nevertheless, this product is not compatible and should not be advertised as such. Also, the packaging job was shoddy at best the keyboard came in a bubble wrap envelope which provided little to no protection from drops, crushing, bending, etc. There was a plastic bag in the package however the keyboard was not inside the bag, it was just lying in there.Now, the keyboard may still be functional itself on a different model hence the second star in the review but overall, I was not able to use this product and was disappointed in the package.

Does not fit the Dell 13 5379 laptop.
