I love the book It have great recipes wonderful photos but I do believe it was lacking some recipes that Jamaicans cook like cog which is corn pudding I did not see banana pudding I did not see black cake I did not see sweet potato pudding I didnt see easter bon. quite a few recipes that I'm used to that I have eaten is not in this book unfortunately . I'm kind of disappointed and then again with the recipes in the book I like the recipes but unfortunately buy another Jamaican cookbook that has the recipes that I'm looking for. But all in all the book is fabulous is a great book the recipes that is in this book is worth buying all the same I just wished a few more recipes I was looking for was in this book but other than that this is a very good book and I'm glad I bought it.

It’s obvious this book is Americanize, half the stuff in there I’ve never heard of and I’m Jamaican, born and raised. I was very disappointed because i bought it as a gift for someone and recipes and I thought would be in it there, wasn’t.

Not quite "Authentic" more like an infusion, slightly misleading but can work with it.

May have good recipes but I hardly call this “authentic” great info on Jamaica and it’s food though. They’re a few key dishes that if they were served to me I would return them.

I find this cook book to be well written and the preclude island history biography to be excellent ; and the recipes cover all aspects of jamaican cooking.

I love this book, many different recipes that are all excellent. I'm a Jamaican who has learn to cook from my Dad, Mom and Grandma. This book taught me some things that I didn't even know of. Get this book.

My Jamaican husband was very pleased to see the very familiar recipes he grew up eating, and I cant wait to make some for him! :)

I have only browsed some of the recipes, but I ordered the book for a certain few recipes. On the face of it, the book will work for me very well.It arrived very quickly, which is a good job as I was so excited.You're cooking skills will improve in leap and bounds, as the recipes are well laid out with a good size font, and the ingredients are easily sourced.

Tried the curry lamb just like my grandmother they brown the meat without seasoning it in the pot then put seasoning in afterward This also came on time.

Pretty book. Rating it 3 stars for the quality, however, my husband is Jamaican and hasn't heard of half of the recipes!! Good pictures though.

I really enjoyed using the book 'Authentic Recipes from Jamaica', as a guide during my cooking. Being Jamaican, I am used to the meals shown in the book, but just never seem to get it 100% perfect, just the way my Mom and Grandmother would prepare these meals. After experimenting with some of the recipes from the book so far, I think I have finally gotten it and now realise that there were certain ingredients that I needed to include in my own cooking to get the perfect taste. Fantastic book and I would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in Jamaican cooking. Thanks Amazon !

I cannot wait to use my new book. I took a quick look through it and it brought back such fond memories of my childhood.

Definitely not authentic and not very tasty recipes but nice pictures. The sweet potato pone tasted nothing like the Jamaicans make it. No Jamaican makes ackee and salted fish with bacon.

great book! absolutely, great buy, not only did this cookbook share awesome recipes,but it also included pages and pages of Jamaican history which I craved , loved it, great deal, rosa
