Q: Does the bike have to have a quick release on rear tire?

This product is designed for a quick release axle. However, while it is not guaranteed, if your bike does not have this it may still work by simply tightening the trainer to your rear axle. If this fits securely over the bolts the trainer will still work.

Q: What is the big difference between rad cycle and kinetic 2.0 road machine?

the rad is loud, i made a noise canceling box to shut it up out of egg cartons and cardboard (worked very well). I would assume the kinetic would have better bearings. I put an equivalent of 2000 miles on it before getting an overuse injury. If you buy this take off the plastic cover near the cyclinder, as that makes even more noise. Personally I think it is a better buy than the kinetic, I got mine on ebay for 20 dollars new
