Excellent tool- worked great on '06 Pontiac Vibe!
Bought this to replace one of the front wheel bearings on a 2006 Pontiac Vibe. The bearings are pressed in, so a tool like this is crucial to removing AND reinstalling the bearing without damaging the bearing or other parts of the car. Necessary tools include a breaker bar, socket wrench, combination wrench, and lubricant/threadlock for the bolt. You don't NEED an impact wrench, but it made removal of the old bearing much easier (see below). If you need a slide hammer for removing the hub, check with an autoparts store for a loaner tool. And PLEASE, use safety googles/glasses whenever doing work like this. I've never heard a person say "Yeah, I lost my right eye working on that, but it was worth it!"A few thoughts/suggestions from my experience:1- There are no instructions with this kit, but you can use the ATD version: http://atdtools.com/8625. It's very helpful to show how the pieces need to be arranged to work properly. The only difference is the ATD parts are marked with numbers, with this kit you will have to measure and/or check the fitment. YouTube also has some very good videos showing the use of this type of kit.2- Both the screw/bolt and the advancing nut are 32mm.3- Verify the correct adapter(s) for each use, check 2 or 3 times to make sure everything fits and is on straight before tightening. If you don't use the right size, you risk binding the screw or damaging the bearing/vehicle.4- LUBE THE SCREW/BOLT!!!- Can't emphasize this enough. The tremendous amount of force being applied can cause the screw to bind and potentially warp/break, and then you will have a mess. I also lubed any metal to metal contact point (washers, adapters, etc). Before you start, lube the screw and then thread the nut all the way to the head. This will spread the lubricant and ensure the screw threads correctly and easily.5- You can use an impact wrench, but be cautious. The force and speed of an impact wrench can result in binding or off-center installation. I found it to be more helpful when removing the old bearing, as the hammer-like torque it provides helped jar the bearing loose. When reinstalling the new bearing and the hub, I didn't want them to go in crooked, so I used a combination wrench and a socket/breaker bar and took it slow, both went on without any trouble.Overall, I found this kit to be a great buy. If you want to avoid a trip to the mechanic or just like to do the work yourself, this is the one of the best ways to go. It's a quality set of tools at a VERY reasonable price. There are a number of similar but higher priced kits here on Amazon as well as other tools stores. HF also sells a kit just like this one, for about double the price. Even with a 20% coupon, it's still more than this set. I was a little reluctant to buy this due to the low price and only 1 review, but it was worth it and I'm glad I did!

great set of spacers etc. get the hub grappler if you want to avoid removing the knuckle from the strut.
this is a very nice array of spacers and associated parts for removing front wheel drive, press-in bearings. i used it in conjunction with the otc hub grappler OTC 6575-1 Hub Grappler Puller . yeah, that's almost $200 all told, but you'll have what you need for just about any FWD bearing change. in my opinion, you'll need another tool besides this set to remove the hub - getting the bearing out and new one back in can be done with just this kit, but if you want to remove the hub without removing the knuckle from the strut (to minimize the need for alignment), you'll need something like the grappler puller. a hydraulic press will work well if you remove the knuckle.to remove the inner race from the hub, i used a dewalt hand held grinder equipped with a cutting disc similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DWE4012-Paddle-Switch-Grinder/dp/B00L42M4VQ/ref=sr_1_10?s=power-hand-tools&ie=UTF8&qid=1475016247&sr=1-10&keywords=grinder+tool (the link paste tool on the review page didn't work correctly for this :-\if you use the grinder be careful not to cut into the hub.i didn't use the screw or nut in this kit as the ones in the grappler kit worked well for me, but if you use them, be sure to lubricate them with a good grease. i used a molybdenum disulfide based heavy vehicle wheel and chasis grease.

Good tool for home garage
I would consider myself an advanced DYI. I worked about 10 years as a mechanic and do all my own repairs and can fix almost anything on a vehicle. This kit is what it is. a cheap made in China kit but it is perfect for the occasional use in a home garage. I wouldn't buy it if I was still working in a shop and had to use it all the time but for the what little I will use it the price is right. I borrowed a professional grade kit to do the other side last year and this kit worked as good or better as the expensive tool. Grease the bolt and washers up before use and it works great. The only complaint I have is the latches on the case came broke. They still hold it shut but fall off when you open them. But what do you expect for a trip all the way across the world. Also it does not come with instructions so if you are a not experienced using a tool like this it might a issue for you but you should be able to find a YouTube video to get you headed in the right direction. For the price even if you use it once it will still be cheaper than having a shop do the work.

Just what the doctor ordered.
Pulling a wheel bearing is one of the toughest tasks, but this tool helped a lot. I have a friend who has a hydraulic press but he lives 40 minutes away. By the time I pulled the knuckle and drove there and back I figured I could do it myself with this screw press.I was right.Quality is top notch. Just one thing, lube the screw with motor oil before your fist use (and each subsequent use). Don't try something like WD-40, it is not the right type for this tool. I used a cheap, non-detergent 30W, chainsaw bar oil would be perfect too. Be generous, set it up and have an impact wrench handy. I had two, my cordless Ryobi, which could not handle the torque so I switched to my pneumatic - 300lb 1/2 inch model. It took every bit of the 300lbs to press it out - and press it back in too. After 2 wheels the screw was just fine - threads and all.Worked great for me and it held up just fine. Not sure how it would fair without the oil - that's a lot of tension on the tool.Case is great too.Cheers

Front Wheel bearing Replacement 2007 Ford Escape
My Uncle needed to have the bearings replaced on his 2007 Ford Escape 2WD. After researching I found that this required a press but some peopl used a tool like the wheel bearing adapter kit .The revies ranged from worked great to snapping the bolt.I used this tool as it was described. I had the bolt in the back and the long nut infront that I could spin. I was sure to oil the threads with the removal and press in. It is a 32MM size for the nut and bolt head. Be sure to have a breaker bar. As a tip I strongly suggest you freeze your new bearings and hubs prior to pressing. It made it slide right in without much pressure from the tool.Overall rating it worked great on the ford Escape. I can't say for sure how durable it will be as I only needed it once. But I found there was no damage to the threads with the use. I am expecting several more uses and if the bolt ever breaks I will get a replacement. If you are a DIY person pick this up and give it a shot. Beats spending hundreds on a press.

Great Tool Set for the price
This is a "Chinese Knock Off" tool set originally made by OTC.Quality is good for an occasional mechanic that needs to install 1 wheel bearing. So far the pusher bolt is still good which was the complaint with most tool like this.I did use an extra bearing as suggested by somebody on Youtube "South Maine Auto Repair".I give 4 star because at least one of the metal pushing plate hole is not big enough to fit the pusher bolt.I found this accidentally when trying to use that particular plate. At least there are a lot of choices so I ended up using a different metal pushing plate of similar size. The size of the bolt is 22 mm or 7/8 in which slightly bigger than the original OTC tool.So beware when you want to buy extra washer or bearing. All in all, it is better than expected.

There's no directions included but it's easy enough to find some online
The labor on replacing the wheel bearing would have bought me 5 or 6 of these at least. There's no directions included but it's easy enough to find some online. Great tool! Case latch broke, but if that's the only negative thing to happen...I'm ok with it.Update: I finally used the tool. It's worth its weight in gold. Wouldn't have been able to get the wheel bearing out, and back in without it. I even used it to press the wheel hub back in to the bearing. You'll need 2, 1 1/4" or 32mm sockets/wrenches to be able to use it though. I think I've seen reviews somewhere that the bolt head is too soft for a breaker bar...not true. I used two breakers and a cheater pipe without stripping or breaking anything.

Threads had me slightly worried, but worked out fine so far.
Tool set worked out great for intended jobs. So far no problems with tools and over-all they're a great value. Make sure to grease the threads and washers to minimize wear and tear. I was a little concerned by the look of the threads right out of the box, as they look like there are some consistency issues, but they didn't seem to have any effects on the functionality of the tool. Maybe down the road after a few more uses it will do something, only time will tell. It's still a decent value and it works good.

Economical tool kit
Good price. The pieces are not identified which is fine. It's just as easy to try a few to find what fits. I am concerned what grade of steel or heat treatment is for a low priced kit like this. If used properly and not hammered on I would assume the pieces will hold up. There is a guy that posted a review on December 13, 2015 on the site for this tool... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0124SO86M?redirect=true&ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0 ...that did a great list of general recommendations. I used anti-seize for the threaded rod and associated parts. Felt good during the press and no wear to any pieces. I just went to the site and it says "Currently unavailable" and "We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock." I'm done.

Like others have said
After spending two weeks trying various methods to remove the wheel bearing, this kit was just what I needed. I looked at various other kits and read hundreds of reviews before settling on this kit. Everything I needed to press out the old bearing, and press in the new, was included. Like others have said, it is not a professional grade set, but for the average at home mechanic it will do just fine. Make sure you keep the threads of the main screw oild so you don't strip the threads and it should last longer than your car. The only annoying thing is that it didn't come with instructions, but a quick search of YouTube will remedy that.

Huge powerful tool set
After reading the reviews for this tool I decided to give it a try. It is much bigger and sturdier than the pictures show, and got the job done perfectly. I expect to use it for years to come. In response to some of the 1 star ratings... It definitely requires a coat of grease on the pulling rod (Bolt) and when the bearing gets hung up, don't try to force it out with more torque. A couple of whacks with a 3lb sledge and the bearing jumps forward. Re-torque, wack, repeat. The bearing will fall out and you'll have a great tool ready for the next time it's needed.

Sort of worked
Unfortunately it did not work as advertised. My bearing wouldn't budge even with a strong impact gun. I even tried an OTC forcing screw with this kit and still no dice. Maybe it was just my car, who knows, but it was only a Mazda Protege. I ended up getting a 12-ton Harbor Freight shop press and it did the trick.Good news - Even if you get a shop press, you still need the adapters in this kit and it works great for that.Bad news - I didn't want to remove the hub from the car but in the end I had to in order to use the shop press. This kit is still a great value for using with a shop press.

A nice mobile multiple use bearing press when coupled with an impact wrench for DIY's not needing a professional press
Works good to press most car wheel bearings using an impact wrench (a must) if you don't have the need for a professional press, and don't want to pay a machine shop to do it for you. Pays for itself in time and money after the first pair. Product is solid and the only weakness is the bolt which will fail prematurely if you don't grease it well with each use. For the DIY person or anyone needing a mobile press I would guess it may do a dozen or two bearing replacements before wearing out the bolt as it appears fairly soft.

then just repeat until it starts coming along easily. This kit held up to the abuse
Just big enough to fit the large bearing on the front of my 2010 Honda CR-V. The CR-V front wheel bearing is a pain to remove, and I had to work in tandem with someone else on a second breaker bar while tightening this kit to the max, then it just took a hit with a 2 pound sledge hammer to convince the bearing to start moving out of the spindle, then just repeat until it starts coming along easily. This kit held up to the abuse. Just remember to use a lot of grease on the threads.

Nice tool for the money
Nice tool for the money, does exactly what a wheel bearing press should do, I had no trouble removing and reinstalling my wheel bearings in my FWD car, there are many sizes and adapters to fit just about any application. I sprayed all the threaded parts with molly grease and I had no problems at all.
