Altra Running Mens Provision Walker-M

I have not yet had a chance to wear this shoe around, except for my living room. Based on that short experience, it is a very comfortable shoe. Looking forward to getting a replacement in the right size. This pair was 1/2 to 1 full size too small, so I had to return them.I have quite a few Altra Zero Drop shoes, which I use both for racewalking and for just walking around in. Love the zero drop heels and the huge toe boxes. Great for my feet. But Altra's sizing control is awful. I normally wear a size 13 in most shoes. In Altras, I wear either a 13 or a 14, depending on the shoe. I have 13's from them that fit perfectly. I also have 3 pairs from them in which I had to buy 14's. This pair that I bought from Amazon and got today -- size 13 but my big toe was touching the end. The pair of Altra Torins I was wearing when I brought the new ones in the door are also 13's, but my big toe is a full inch away from the end. Go figure why Altra cannot get this sizing thing right.Other than that hassle, Altras are great shoes and I have no reason to believe this one will be an exception to that rule, once I get a pair that fits me.Update: Ordered a replacement pair of 14's. This time, way too big. Still soft and comfy but way too sloppy. Figure a 13.5 would have been close enough, but they don't make that size. So I sent this pair back, as well. Therefore, based on my experience, I'd say, for this shoe, order a half-size larger than usual.

They are Altra shoes. what else do you need to know?ok. I bought a 1/2 size larger. I work at UPS, My knees hurt less, and they do what they say they do. I have worn altra for a year and these were my 2nd pair. they last for about 6 months. I live in dallas area, yes it is hot. (understatement) pieces don't fall off as others say. but wear thin and then are pulled up as your feet slide on the ground but this takes time.

Compared to regular shoes, these are at least 4 stars for comfort. Alta needs to get better quality for the fabic, which does NOT hold up. I sold black mesh like their tennis shoes would work. Also, Need women's wide sizes or Men's 7 1/2. Comfort is there and I walk on hard, cement, retail floors all day. These shoes do not hold up. The top leather-look junk tears and peels and does not breathe. That being said, when I can get them for around $40 I buy a few pairs, because I have to have black shoes and I have not found anthing as comfortable. I have been an Altra user since the beginning, not because I am a runner, but because I love how the shoes feel on my feet for walking. For general everyday shoes one cannot beat the Torin for walking around a mall or fishing. The Altra's need a more slip resistant outsole, too. Still I will buy nothing else. Hey Altra, how about a good outdoor sandal please?!

UPS driver mostly approved! These are the THESE MOST COMFORTABLE shoes for working on your feet, period. HOWEVER, as many other reviews point out...they don't last. The souls of these shoes are not one continuous piece of rubber. I started losing pieces off the souls of these shoes within one month. By two months I had lost all of the rubber pieces on the toe area, during the summer months and in dry weather I just walked on the foam...but these shoes didn't last three months of heavy walking use. For $60 I say - go for it. They will save your feet and knees if you are working, but I'd happily pay more money if Altra could make these shoes more durable!! The pictures are from shoes that I began wearing May 21st and retired today, August 3rd.

Buyer beware! Despite these shoes being the most comfortable and best shoes I've found to wear for my profession (I'm on my feet 12 plus hours a day) I cannot recommend anyone buying these. I have only had these shoes for about 2 months and have worn them strictly for work (indoors) on carpet and have taken great care of them. Just now the "leather" skin began peeling away and basically now the shoes are ruined. I cannot wear these for work any longer since it is unacceptable due to appearance. This skin as I'm calling it is super thin and bubbled up and began separating from the shoe. Never experienced anything like this before and very frustrated because as I said the fit and feel are spot on. Keep looking, seriously.

I ordered this shoe in the next size up as many people stated in other reviews and the shoe had a lot of extra room in the toe. I think these are made to fit exact to your size. I loved the immediate comfort of these shoes and they have a very nice look to them and I am not a shoe person.Unfortunately I had to return these as they were not wide enough for my feet in the mid-foot section where they curve in. My foot is wide and hung over the sole on both sides causing my metatarsal bone to come down on the top side of the sole with each step.I do hope altra will make some shoes in a wide as I would like very much to be able to comfortably wear them.

Baught these shoes for my father.He has bad feet, and after many, many trips to shoe stores.. we gave up. Until a friend of mine walked in with these particular shoes. I asked all the right questions,and before my father knew it.. he had new shoes. He loves them! He wears them all the time. Finally a shoe for a wide foot. Genius for whom ever figured out not to " cram" a foot in to a shoe. These shoes are made exactly like a foot. One piece of information, order a 1/2 size up. The box they come in explains their whole concept. Thanks again

I am a huge fan of Altra shoes. I wear them for work and they are super comfortable. Most of them come in less than subtle colors though, and I was happy find these in plain black. Unfortunately they are too small. I figured maybe because they were a different material they would eventually stretch out, but that didn't happen. I can't comment on durability because they were too painful to wear for an extended time. I already buy Altra shoes a half size up. These must be popular because they are difficult to find and are unavailable in a half size higher.
