30-59" Solid Wood Pant Waist Stretcher - Instant Stretch

I am less than thrilled with this product. Yes, it fit in the pants I tried to stretch, but didn't come close to making them fit, even after several days of trying and wetting the waistband. The jeans were probably just too small for me (my fault obviously), not to mention I ripped the material badly by the closure button. Hopefully will work fine with other pants that only need a little extra "give". Don't think some of the stretch estimates I've read on these type devices are very practical -- material (and buttons/snaps) just don't work that way. (That said, I've only tried with one pair of jeans, so limited experience here.) Now, as for the product build quality, etc., I am quite underwhelmed. The rotation is wobbly, varnish had dried dripping on the wood, and rust on one nut of the black handle. No grip bevels, gimping or friction on the black torquing handle. Very poor "design". Appears to be a cheap piece of heavy duty shrink wrap material. No name brand anywhere on box or product -- completely generic, and instructions were not very complete. Assembly, for one, could have been much more clear (should show which end goes where with color coding for example.) I am assuming this is a very basic build quality item perhaps made in a sheltered workshop? Probably sold under other names (another on amazon looks very similar, if not identical.) Overall, I could see maybe $12 for it (and I wouldn't be surprised to find it at a Harbor Freight store for less than that -- looks like some of the bargain, marginal quality stuff they'd have.) Hopefully, I'll get some success out of it next go around!

The item arrived fairly quickly. It was packaged in a box inside a padded manilla envelope. Upon opening the box, the two wooden halves were joined together with the two threaded bolts and it took me a few moments to figure out to separate them as the directions assumed you already had them separated. For anyone else who purchases this and also wonders, after opening it, you just pull them apart. It took a little bit of effort but once the two pieces were separated, everything worked out fine. I stretched my first pair of 29's into 30's and am happily wearing them now. I'm pretty picky about what I purchase, and for that reason stayed away from different versions with the plastic threaded parts. So far I'm pleased with this product. I did knock it the one star for not explaining in the instructions that it may initially need to be pulled apart to separate the two halves after shipment.

Actually, the device is rather large (which is fine for pants) but heavy. I really don't use it as a pants stretcher; I am using it to widen the bottoms of knit blouses that have fitted bottoms or widen athletic tops made of lycra. I don't like fitted anything. So when I placed the stretcher inside the hem of the blouse, hung on a hanger, the darn device fell right out of the bottom of the blouse! LOLYep, forgot what I was using it for. I had a stretcher many years ago. It was like a spring tension rod. It was great, light and not bulky at all. Think I will create my own and use it instead.

Cleaver idea using simple mechanical materials. Put it together; on a 40" inch waist had to use one of the extensions. Inserted into the jeans pants hip / and water sprayed the area, took about 6-10 min of looking after. Tryed them on, and it worked. Simple to put together all you have to do is read the directions and remember some of the threading is reverce thread "that's counter clock wise" standard thread is clock wise.

Very nice setup. It comes as 5pc. set. The two wooden ends, two threaded rods, 1 short and 1 a little longer and a shaft handle you thread on to use to extend the ends. I didn't need the extra rods for my pants, but could come in handy for bigger things. Very easy to use, a no brainer. Works very well, for those pants bands that shrink in the dryer. No need to buy bigger pants to get the waist band to fit.Shipped very quickly.I would definitely would recommend.

Product is useless. This is the second review I've written since the first was not posted. The device works by having left and right handed screws that are embedded in the wood spreaders. But since these screws are not properly secured, they turn when you attempt to use the device and ultimately push themselves out of the wood. Accordingly, the device falls apart.

This product is garbage! It's the second time I used it and it fell apart!! There are two pieces of cut off metal inside the middle tubing that the rods screw into and they are not secured in and way. They slide down into the tube when turning to stretch and then turn with you to boot! I actually pulled one out while trying to pull the rod back up. It is a piece of junk! Mind you... One time using and they won't let me return! Do not waste your time on this one!

I love this product because it worked good. Better than I expected really. The extension bars were not easy to put on, maybe they should be numbered because we are not engineers. I finally figured it out. I'm happy with the item and I'd recommend it to all of us with a little extra in the middle. Wet the waist and stretch. Let it dry and try again. It worked for me
