Works great on Wasps and Mosquitos, smells great too
I live on a creek, and I swear every time I douse a wasp next in Hot Shot, two days later wasps are back rebuilding a nest right next to where the old one was. Between the wasps and the mosquitoes, walking out any door had been an "at your own risk" situation. Living off of spite and hate rage, these horrible wasps will dive bomb you for walking by. I've seen those fake nests, but they're ugly and I don't want them around anymore than the real nests. So I bought this stuff because it is supposed to repel mosquitos and wasps and deter the building of nests without harming butterflies, fireflies, birds, or insects that the creek life depends on.It's a huge bottle. I sprayed it the day after killing and removing all of the nests (seven of them) for the millionth tube, around the entire soffit, under rails, banisters, and stairs on the front and back porch, plus under bay windows built out, the foundation, and under the back porch since it's not on a concrete foundation but a wooden one. Basically everywhere I've ever seen wasps nests. Then I did a lot of work in the backyard, leaving piles of branches waiting for haul away, which attracts wasps because it attracts their prey. So I sprayed again, and also doused the pile of trimmings for good measure. That was a few weeks ago.I sprayed again this morning because it rained yesterday and I assume it needs reapplying after rain, but I've had no wasps building nests, none coming by except when I've seen them in the neighbor's yard, and I've also not had any problems with mosquitoes. I can leave my patio doors open all day, which is lovely this time of year, and not have a single mosquito or wasp come in, although the occasional fly still does. Those branches are being hauled away today and there's no wasps around to interfere. I've not even gone through a quarter of the bottle yet after three full sprays. Not only did it work, but it smells lovely. 10/10 absolutely recommend and will definitely be buying again.

It really works!
This really works! A lot less bugs flying around! It was unbearable to go outside longer than 2 mins. All the bugs would cling to you. We live in the Mountains with lots of trees. No way to really know where the nests/breeding grounds are. I sprayed everywhere around my house & yard. I sprayed my flower beds (plants are still good), It does not bother my 3 little dogs. The nasty wood bees have torn holes through my deck posts, I have sprayed the wholes its been about a month & they have not returned. I don't know how long the effects last but I do know my house/yard smell minty fresh. I will be ordering more.

Powerful, natural pest control
Great, natural way to control pests. Even though the scent is a bit strong, it’s a pleasant scent. The peppermint smells dissipates into a soft, clean smell within a few hours or quicker with the windows open. Handy gallon sprayer so you don’t need to keep refilling a small sprayer. Sprayed a good amount all over the house and sprayed two applications in the first five days to be sure to deter any pests and that seemed to be successful. Then tried once per week to see how effective it would be and so far it’s still doing a great job. It does say to use it more often and will increase applications as needed. No noticeable discoloration where applied (vinyl floors, carpet, wood-framed windows, wood floors, etc.).

Bigger and better
Just a better version of the spray bottle size they have!!! My only complaint for the other one was that there just wasn't enough for it to last, but with this one it seems stronger also so I don't even have to spray as much making it last even longer!! Kills ants on contact, even if you do like a fast sweepy spray. Very good! I love peppermint smell but things are saying it may not be good for my two cats. I would hope to find something better but in the meantime this works amazing.

Decent deterrent but won’t cure an infestation.
I live in a suburb near woods and a swamp so I get a lot of pests. I’ve used this product for a variety of insect and rodent problems and my overall verdict is this: it’s decent at both but it’s too weak to deal with a serious problem. Here are my personal experiences with each pest I’ve used it on:Mice - this stuff definitely seems to deter mice but if they’ve already set up camp in your home, it won’t agitate them enough to leave permanently. I sprayed an area where I spotted a mouse come into my room, and I saw with my own eyes the mouse run in, and then immediately turn around and run out. Sadly though, even after making my house reek with the smell of mint for a few days, the mice never completely left and the problem wasn’t dealt with until we zapped them with a kill trap. If you have a mouse problem this will help give you something to fight back with, but don’t rely solely on this alone to solve the problem, back it up with some traps or maybe even an ultrasonic pest repeller.Ants - ants DO NOT care and were the least affected out of all the pests I tested this on. At best they’ll stay away for a moment but will be back in full force the moment the scent dies down, or they’ll just change routes undeterred. We had a really bad ant infestation where they were crawling all over the house, in the cabinets, in our beds, everywhere. This stuff did virtually nothing to help the problem. We eventually won the battle by spraying Raid on several of their trails and placing several Raid Ant Baits around key areas but mint doesn’t seem to do as much to stop ants as people claim, at least not for a problem as serious as the one we had. If you’re dealing with an ant problem I can’t overstate how important it is to get good ant baits, because until you kill the queens their numbers will simply never end.Spiders - spiders won’t like this but again, it’s not going to help with even a mild infestation where they’ve already gotten cozy in your home. I tried to use this to get rid of several dozen Cellar Spiders in our basement and it didn’t produce the results I would have liked. More often than not, the spiders would be right back in the areas I sprayed the next day. I found Ortho Home Defense to be more effective at both deterring and killing them, and it has since become my “go to” for dealing with most bugs.Squirrels - We had a couple of squirrels tear into our attic recently and I furiously blasted the last of my mint spray up there in retaliation. To its credit it did seem to cause them to flee for a day, but they were determined to make our attic their home, and came back the very next day when the scent died down. We ended up blasting loud music and threw the last of my essential oils up there to get them out again and then sealed up the entrances. If you loaded this stuff into a water gun and fired it at some squirrels or groundhogs invading your bird feeder or garden, that might be an effective, non-lethal way to help stop them, but like the mice they’ll probably be more stubborn if you’re specifically trying to dislodge them from nesting in or around your home so be sure to keep reapplying until they give up.Flies, Gnats, Moths, Mosquitoes and Crane Flies - As far as insects go, this category seems to be what this stuff is most effective against. Mosquitoes and Crane flies were getting into my house through the Air Conditioner during the summer so I repeatedly sprayed the back end of my AC outside and it seemed to help when regularly reapplied. Bear in mind though I wasn’t dealing with an infestation with this group like the other insects, just discouraging some wanderers from getting near my AC. If you have an especially bad problem with this category of dusk/night pests, some sticky blue light traps would probably be a better alternative for indoors and a bug zapper would probably be better outdoors, especially when combined with an outlet timer.Despite my rating, I like Mighty Mint and appreciate it as a solid, all-purpose pest control spray, but the price tag combined with my somewhat mixed results compels me to give it a moderate 3 stars. It’s best use in my opinion is as a holistic, preemptive deterrent if you don’t mind reapplying it regularly and is especially effective against rodents, but it won’t singlehandedly save you from an infestation and there are better alternatives for insects.
