Kupo steel baby boom
Incredible piece of hardware. Super heavy duty. Wonderfully designed. Great price. This boom extends over twice as far as the standard c-stand arm. It connects to standard c-stand’s main knuckle. Great unit.

Not a punk boom...
Heavy duty out of the box. Using a 2 1/2" coupler to place the boom on the baby Kupo stand and it seems to be just fine if you make sure and balance the load. Using a 10lb Manfrotto counterweight - I'd go with the 15 if I bought it again - which I likely will.

REAL Heavy Duty - no joke!
My go-to HD stands are Avenger and this is the first KUPO product I've purchased. I went with the KUPO boom for two reasons. There was a $30 price difference and the design of how the boom mounts to the stand seemed better in the pictures. The KUPO uses a flange that mounts into the Avenger or KUPO grip heads and the Avenger has a shaft that fits into the grip. What did come out of the battered box was a big-boy sized steel boom that was exactly what I was hoping for; heavy and bullet proof :) The videos KUPO includes in the product description are excellent and what I got was exactly the same thing.I loosened the Avenger grip and slid the boom flange into it and tightened it down. I hooked an Alien Bee 800 to one end and a 10-pound sandbag to the other. I extended the boom out roughly 30" and balanced it just like the video instructed me. Lastly, I loosened the column and lifted it up to my 8' ceiling. That part definitely took some muscle because of the weight of the boom, the light and the sandbag. This would be a good time for me to emphasize this boom is not for a weenie stand. You could seriously hurt somebody if this falls off a flimsy stand so put your money into a quality stand like the Avenger or KUPO.One more thing about the KUPO boom. It's made in China whereas the Avenger products are made in Italy. Quality-wise I think the Avenger and KUPO are functionally identical but to me the cosmetic finishing on the Avenger product seems to be better. Maybe someone who has purchased both can comment to that.My final word is to tell you to buy the best quality stands and hardware you can for safety and longevity. KUPO and Avenger are the best you can buy. You won't regret it and your grandkids will thank you when you pass it on to them :)

Great Boom Clamp!!
Been wanting this for a very long while now, but hesitated pulling the trigger for quite some time. Just thought it was a bit expensive for a boom clamp. There are other less expensive clamps out there, but from doing my research, this was the only one that would fit the boom arm that I have. My boom arm diameter is 31 mm, and this clamp will accommodate it. The other decent and cheaper clamps were for bigger diameter arms. Those single grip and dual grip clamps would work, but were too finicky for me; always a hassle to adjust height and pivot simultaneously. This clamp does the job right and is very sturdy. Both levers are easy to manipulate, and they clamp down very securely. Fits on a standard light stand, and is very well built. For the arm clamping lever, I would prefer a side lever like that of the Manfrotto Super Boom Pivot Clamp (which was too big for my boom arm). This is easier to get to (as opposed to reaching over the top of the clamp) when the boom is up high. All in all, this is a great clamp that should last a very long time. It should just be cheaper. Recommended!!

Solid, functional, good looking. If you are hanging hardware over your model this is the only choice.
I needed to use this the day after I received it so I tested it overnight with a 20 pound shot bag hanging on a 10 inch baby pin on the very end and a 40 pound counterweight. set the pin up parallel to the ground so it was torqueing the balance adjust clamp and set the boom at 45 degrees. balanced it and set up following the procedure in the video. 12 hours later nothing has shifted a single millimeter. Took it with me on the shoot and didn't think twice about the heavy and expensive gear hanging directly over my head.Hardware wise this is a beast, overbuilt, solid, great machining, and a design that has exactly the features you need and no clutter. You can tell right away if gear was designed by photographers or if marketing had the final say, clearly this was made by photographers who needed a boom that would last. I think I could lift my car with this boom and a cinderblock.Based on this boom I'm planning on adding a pair of Kupo C Stands to my inventory, I always need one more light stand.

Excellent Value !
Kupo is an excellent value and is equal in quality to the Matthews or Avenger offerings. It's built like a tank and is easy to use at full extension. Obviously you will need an appropriate stand and sandbags to round it out. I'll try the aluminum one next.

Sturdy but SHORT.
I have other impact equipment, so I knew what to expect when it came to quality. THis thing is solid, built like a tank. However, it's not long at all. Like not even 7 feet, and that's NOT ALL USABLE length either. You have to have at least a foot of it past the pivot point, with a counterweight attached on the hook for this thing to be stable since it's so heavy. I was hoping I could have this stand off to the side of the back drop, and boom a light straight in on a perpendicular angle to light the backdrop, but this is kind of too shot because I use large backdrops. Has to go back. : (

Satisfecho
si tus luces no son muy pesadas, lo recomiendo, pero si quieres colgar una caja grande el de metal es mejor opcion ya que es mas resistente.
