This was a birthday present for my boyfriend as he likes building his own DIY gadgets. So far he seems happy with it! His previous soldering kit was a very cheap one that didn't have temperature control and no interchangeable tips, so this is definitely an upgrade to give him more versatility and options. He says it heats up quick, feels good to use, and the controls are very intuitive. However has also mentioned that the tips may not last super long and will need replacing. But I told him how much it cost vs some other more expensive ones I saw and he was like "Oh, well, that's a fair bargain for what it is then." 😂 So I think it's a win as a step above a basic soldering kit without spending a hundred pounds for a more expensive station (especially if you are like me and not confident in shopping for diy equipment)! All in, a safe choice of present for the DIY-soldering man in your life that he can have fun with without breaking the bank!

Only marked down one star on the accuracy as it's a little bit out by about 10°C and you can see it fluctuate slightly when measured with an external temp probe, that said there is a fine tuning hole at the front so if I'm that bothered I'll adjust but tbh it seems fine. Don't know about the sleep mode feature, doesn't really interest me personally as long as the heat control works which it does. Iron heats up fast, plastic casing is a little cheap maybe but it's fine for the price and despite what other users may say it's heat resistant plastic not plastic that's going to melt on the iron holder so it's fine. The solder reel holder included is nice and handy, the other extra tips are good to have and the solder sucker is the usual kinda thing. All in all for the price a good tool, not sure how long the ceramic element will last in the iron tip end as I've seen some reviews saying they break apart over time....we shall see.

I needed a soldering iron for some small electronics work and this iron fits the job perfectly. It is pretty easy to use and comes with a wide range of tips (11).The temperature control is very useful and sets the iron apart from the very cheap one which you can control while being overal much cheaper than professional irons.

The soldering iron heats up faster than many others at this price point. The temperature control is nifty. Wish it had a case.

Does the job well enough, but the iron looks and feels cheap. The iron holder being made of plastic is not a great idea.

I love this soldering iron. Works great, heats fast, great tip selection with a very nice price.

like it i cant see any thing wrong so far

I’m an electronic enthusiast so never had station before and weller is out of my budget. Decided to give it a shot - and I’m very surprised how well it works! It’s sturdy, plenty of spare tips, cable seems to be solid. For now solid 5 stars, I will update this review in the next couple of months.after 2 days of using review edit:Rating dropping to 2 stars - tip looks like 2 years old, I did literally one project it actually I should replace it now. Temperature sensor measures not sure what - but for sure not end of tip - I used pyrometer and LCD shows 350 when tip was 80 degrees. Very very disappointed. Actually, the temperature LCD feature is completely useless, it showing random numbers whuch you can change with rotary knob.
