I was aware that these plates were HAND PAINTED in Spain when I bought them. I assume that the plates themselves were not made in Spain but elsewhere. At the moment, they seem to be very nicely done. I plan to wash them by hand (I have a large stainless steel sink divided into two sections: one for washing and one for sanitizing in 1/4 cup Clorox and half a sink of water). I don't want to take the chance of having them chip in the dishwasher. I also have a soft cloth separating each dish. But they are beautifully painted! I would recommend them.

I love, love, love these plates. So much so, I purchase two sets of the dinner plates, salad plates, tapia plates, the salsa bowls, the regular sizes bowls, the drinking mugs, two pitchers, two deep serving dishes, and two shallow dishes. These have become my everyday dishes because their bright colors and festive hand painted designs simply make me happy. I especially like the small 9” dinner plate size, they are ideal for portion control. I also love the salsa bowl. They are the perfect size for holding various premeasured ingredients and spices when I cook. My only concerns are using them in the microwave. I do not use them in the microwave; due to their composition, terracotta, they tend to over heat and I worry about breakage. They wash well in the dishwasher, but you need to let them air dry too, else they will sweat when stacked immediately after washing - again their composition. I have been using them daily for a little over a month; to date no chips, cracks, or breaks.

I purchased the salad plates, breakfast bowls and dinner plates. They are sturdy, dishwasher safe and are beautiful! We have put them in the microwave as well. Yes, the size is a little smaller than regular U.S. sized dishes, but we don't mind at all and to be honest, most of us need to eat smaller portions, anyway. My husband, kids and I all think they are festive and practical. We are very happy with our purchase.

They are very colourful. I did find that they chip easily so I wash them by hand.

I have slowly been building my collection of these beautiful dishes. I just got the lates. I know have a full five place setting including plates, saucers, bowls, glasses and mini bowls. They are very durable. I put them in the dishwasher and have had no fading or chipping. Going to increase to a 10 place setting. I just absolutely love them. Im impressed with how well they are packed for shipping.

These are so fabulous I just bought another box to keep in the closet in case I have a big party with multiple guest. The second case can also replace any that may accidentally get broken. They are thick sturdy and hand painted. They are ideal in my southwest desert home

I bought several of the dishes including the salad plates, cups, bowls, pitcher and these dinner plates. I am so glad I did! They are tougher than I thought, and while I will be careful with them I don't think they will break as easily as I worried they would. And the design is so beautiful and well crafted, that these can be a decoration or for meal use. I have several bowls sitting out on my counter for that reason! Overall, great dinner plates and I like they they are "European" size smaller too.

I love this small dinner plates. having just returned from Spain, they are an ever present reminder of my trips to that country. I could have purchased this kind of item in Spain, but why would I add to the weight of my luggage of worry about import expenses when I could just wait until I come home and order from Amazon. Good solution. Great and beautiful dishes.
