The Escort Next Door 3: Escape
L**.
An Okay read...but it was free so...
i gave this book 4 stars for a few reasons. Firstly, I didn't like the prologue. I know it supposed to be a part of the story to catch the reader up to a certain point in her life before she decided to go into the escorting business but it was to rushed! It just brushed over her life, how and why she got into the business and that she toyed with the idea of escorting. The author hinted that it was her last resort but she didn't go into what she attempted and why she decided to go into it after those attempts. In addition to rushing over the prologue, the author rushed over her escorting services. I wasn't looking for anything rushed but I had wished the author would go into depth at certain parts of the story (a bit more at least) about how she met some of these guys, her clients, and she ended up in the position of having a violent client. The author touched on it but it would have captured me a bit more if she had gone into more detailsThirdly, I liked the story line of Julia and Preston but I felt the author, both, rushed and dragged certain details of their relationship. I knew she met him under the pretense of being a client, with the hefty fine of $25,000, but I don't think an entire chapter of foreplay and another chapter with just love making is needed. It's excessive and it made me lose interest a few times. With the length of the chapters, I would say that it could have been blended together to make an entire chapter, or half of a chapter.I DID like, however, the interaction between Paul and Julia when he approached her about her being seen with Preston. It seemed real. All of their interactions, their emotions; everything. So, Kudos to the author for that.I didn't like, however, how she, Julia, could have accumulated so much money from her escorting job but, when Paul kicked her out she had no place to go, but Preston's place. What did she do with the money? That then led them to, after she got there and explained her true life and her dilemma, professing their love to each other. That was so predictable. I just wished it was slightly different.Lastly, I did like the court proceedings. I wished she added more to it, so we can know all of the things that Paul used in court, seeing as they mentioned that he would get dirty in court, but...I love the addition of Lyra...and the idea that he had sex with her underage. That was a twist I didn't expect (which says alot since there were alot of cliche moments in this story) but I wished she had testified (Lyra) against Paul; but I guess that would be another story. The last reason I gave it 4 stars was because it was free. If I had to pay, I would have, probably, gave it a 3.UPDATE: It is book three of the series (from what I seemed to overlook before) so I guess the rushed prologue is, acceptable. The 4 stars is well deserved now

Too predictable storyline
The prince on the white horse "syndrome" is full on in this last episode. Yawn!...It seems that the author couldn't decide if this should be an erotic story, a "Doctors novel" or a "womens lib" story. Which is a pity. It started out really good in the first episode.

Rushed.
The books were good but would have been better if the author went into more detail. I would have liked to see Paul's reaction to Lyra and also what happened to him following the hearing.
