Product Description Monologue by Fern Review An ultra dynamic blend of sweet melodies and oblique sentiments carried aloft by crunching guitars, thwacking drums and tight harmonies. -- Alternative Press, June 2000The Goo Goo Dolls have handpicked unsigned Missouri-based band Fern as special guests on the Mp3.com tour. -- Billboard Magazine, October 1999 P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); About the Artist Biography October 2001 Intoxicating melodies and pounding rhythms landed Fern a tour with the well known Goo Goo Dolls in October 1999. In August of 2000 Fern played with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Moby, Fuel, Our Lady Peace, Marcy Playground and many more at the Rolling Rock Town Fair in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Playing all over the Midwest has given this three-piece outfit plenty of opportunity to hone their live skill. Based in Springfield, Missouri, Fern plays regularly in Kansas City, St. Louis, Tulsa, Columbia, Springfield, and many cities in between. The band has played in Chicago as well as New York City. The four played the Mississippi River Music Festival (MRMF) in St. Louis and South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. Currently Fern is signed to an independent label, Ebbline Records. The band has made an effort to play in front of larger record companies when possible. Some of those that generated the most interest include the Workgroup, Dreamworks, and Lava/Atlantic, all of which have given money to Fern to record a demo with well-known producer Ted Niceley. Other interested labels include Sony 550, Epic, Columbia, and Universal. Fern has been playing together since August of 1995 and has accomplished many of the goals they set when they began. Being in a perpetual balance of writing great songs, playing shows, recording, and succeeding financially is a delicate task. Fern is trying its best to do it all and like any great rock 'n' roll band, continues to reach more fans and increase their following. See more

Execellent alternative/pop
I first heard of Fern through the mp3.com Music and Technology Tour CD. (Unforunately, the old and good mp3.com is no more) I absolutely loved them. All of their songs are ones that are both catchy and something that you can stand to listen to over and over without getting sick of it.

Great band it is a shame they never hit it big.
I got this album at a concert where they were opening up for the Goo Goo Dolls and Tonic. I had it signed by the whole band, and to this day I listen to it regularly. I was surprised to find them here on amazon. This band identifies with multiple genres. Similar to The Lost Prophets only older. Think emo minus the whining.
