Throwing Paperback – September 1, 2012

This is a good resource book for reference when you're stuck for a project to do. The writing is clear and not too wordy or blah blah blah. Nice illustrations and a treasure trove of image examples. I'm a beginner, and am not fond of throwing—I'm more at home with hand building, but this took me over some of the rough spots as I completed my first required projects on the wheel. I understood what the other was saying and picked up some tricks that made the process more intuitive for me. This is a good addition to your reference library.

I had been throwing for about 3 years when I bought this book. It changed my life. My life in the studio anyway. This guy has great techniques and they are laid out very well in this book. I highly recommend it to anyone learning to throw

After 30 years I was rusty and needed some guidance. This book did it. It provided good information and got me back on track.

This is an excellent book, both for beginners and potters who want to stretch their skills. The photographs are wonderful and really illustrate the techniques, and the book is full of great tips.

Most informative and helpful. Clear description of techniques with appropriate photos and diagrams have already helped my throwing to improve. Just wish I could go on one of his courses at his new studio/workshop in Cornwall.
