This mic is unbelievably smooth and neutral. It may be a $2000 mic but it sounds as great as those that cost three times as much or more, especially when run through a tube pre-amp (I use the Univeral Audio Solo 610). I eventually sold my Neumann as I just always go to this mic instead - even being someone who salivates to think of the Neumann "shimmer". Yeah, the JZ BH-1 is even better than that!
