Useful for disaster preparedness kit
I bought this thermometer to be part of a home disaster emergency kit because it was well rated, inexpensive, and had a rigid cover. The cover was pretty important since this was going to get crammed into a first aid kit or backpack and hauled around. But even if the cover comes apart and the thermometer pops out, the flexible tip can bend quite a bit, so it looks like this can take moderate abuse. The thermometer was easy to use with about 15 seconds from mouth to readout and as far as I can tell pretty accurate. The business end isn't that hard plastic some thermometers are made of, so it feels better in the mouth and isn't as cold as the hard plastic types. (Not on the level of the glass thermometers from my youth, but it might be important to parents.) Removing the battery cover was easy, but getting the battery out was a bit of a pain. It was just stuck between the contacts pretty good, which is not a bad thing. Nothing a pair of tweezers couldn't deal with. Overall this item performs pretty well at a good price.

Product didn't work as described.
This product doesn't work as described, it does register temperature but it doesn't "beep" when it reaches your temperature as discribed. Also it's helpful to know it doesn't have a backlight to read if you're not in a lit room. I didn't return it bc I needed a thermometer and couldn't wait for a replacement.

Got a dud. Does not display accurate temperature!
This thermometer consistently displays temperatures well below the normal body 98.6 body temperature. There is NO WAY this is correct as it was tested on multiple people. Unfortunately, I trusted the product and didn't test it when I first got it. Now I am past the return timeframe. More importantly, I didn't have a working thermometer when I needed it most.

Incorrect temperature on baby
It's incorrect, and shows several degrees too low. I have an infant and could not check her fever when I really needed to (in the middle of the night). I went and bought another thermometer first thing in the morning.

accurate +/- 0.2 degrees F? That can be an important difference in temperature for a baby. Would not recommend this to families with newborns.
