Political and sexual intrigue is pervasive. Robert Baratheon, King of Westeros, asks his old friend Eddard, Lord Stark, to serve as Hand of the King, or highest official. Secretly warned that the previous Hand was assassinated, Eddard accepts in order to investigate further. Meanwhile the Queen's family, the Lannisters, may be hatching a plot to take power. Across the sea, the last members of the previous and deposed ruling family, the Targaryens, are also scheming to regain the throne. The friction between the houses Stark, Lannister, Baratheon and Targaryen and with the remaining great houses Greyjoy, Tully, Arryn, Tyrell and Martell leads to full-scale war. All while a very ancient evil awakens in the farthest north. Amidst the war and political confusion, a neglected military order of misfits, the Night's Watch, is all that stands between the realms of men and icy horrors beyond. Game of Thrones has always featured excellent music. The opening theme is practically iconic at this point, having been played and covered so many times. Composer Ramin Djawadi's heavy, atmospheric tunes have always helped set the mood, no matter what tone the show is going for at any given time.

Great set besides not so great packaging.
The set looks great. The inserts are cool, they're high gloss screenshots or stills from the production. The disks themselves are clear gloss like season 3 but no blood. They have the Bolton sigil on both disks.One problem, the inside spine is too thick and as result they will not close all the way. This is my only gripe. Other than that this set is beautiful.

Beautiful music which brings back memories of how wonderful GOT was (till end).
This is a really beautiful cd, love the music, reminds you of how good & enjoyable the series was, right up until the end, which was truly abysmal. So if you miss GOT & can't bear to watch the dvd's because of the ending I can now at least listen to the music without wanting to throw myself off the red keep!

Series 5 Game of Thrones
Love the music from Game of thrones takes you back to different scenes of the series and I feel the music from Game of thrones is truly some of the most beautiful music ever produced for a TV series. Series 5 things start to build and take twists and turns regarding the plot which reflect I feel to some of the music produced in this series.

Disappointing.
Very weird choices for a soundtrack, some melodies are soft notes, hardly audible, for several minutes before ending in a few different notes. Barely a melody at all. The volume varies a great deal throughout the CD as well, rather poor sloppy work really. A shame. So much good music in GoT, this CD, however, does not reflect that.
