First assemble the challenging, big & colorful 500-piece jigsaw, then test your knowledge by identifying the 80 or more newsworthy celebrities, political figures and icons from the worlds of sports, science and the arts, each of whom played an important role in the year or decade. An I.D. key is included. The decade of the 1970’s saw an end to the War in Vietnam, while Richard Nixon resigned from Presidential office amidst the Watergate scandal. Oil embargos lead to the oil crisis, resulting in gas shortages and a spike in the price of oil. Jimmy Carter is elected President in 1976, and is instrumental in the signing of the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty, signed by Egyptian President Anwar El Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin. Technology leaps ahead with the birth of the microprocessor, floppy disks, video games, microwave ovens, and VCR’s. Green shag carpet, bright floral wallpaper, and beaded curtains are all home décor staples. Disco emerges as a popular music genre, and bell bottoms and wide-collared shirts are part of the dress code for dance floors lit by disco balls. Star Wars is the biggest thing at the box office, and Steven Spielberg’s career takes off when he directs Jaws. Swimmer Mark Spitz sets seven World Records and wins seven gold medals at the 1972 Summer Olypmics. Through and through, the seventies was a decade full of people, places, and events that changed the course of human history forever.

I'm not a puzzle person, but.....
....I found this different than most puzzles. The pop culture and historical aspect made it more than a puzzle. Doesn't over stay it's welcome, can be finished in 1 or 2 sittings.

I had such a satisfying time assembling these puzzles that I bought every decade. I wish they would create more.

A Double Puzzle
I received this puzzle free from Flickback in exchange for an unbiased review here on Amazon. Two puzzles in one, 1st the jigsaw puzzle itself which has well cut pieces that fit together nicely, 2nd try to identify all of the people in the puzzle. If you are stumped by a particular person, there is an I.D. key included in the box. The conversations, laughter and memories that the 1970's Headline Newsmakers puzzle brought up were priceless.
