Tea Time Placemats Pattern by Judy Niemeyer

The pattern is for the leaf shape. I didn't look close, so I thought the 4 leaves were smaller and on a regular shaped, rectangle placemat. I decided to go ahead and try them anyway.

I purchased this pattern to make 8 placemats for my daughter. It only makes 4, and wastes a lot of fabric in the paper piecing process. I have done paper piecing in the past so expected a really great pattern. The placemats are lovely-all 4 of them-but too much waste in the prescribed cutting method and I still only have 4.

I don't like to leave negative reviews. It also may be me not getting them but these instructions are the most confusing I have ever seen. And yes I have been sewing for 30+ years. I am going to try to just piece like a quilt and hope for the best.

Have seen finished placemats in quilt store in Hawaii. Very tropical look and can't wait to try it. There are you tube videos on the technique.

Needed this pattern for a class. Instructions are clear but advise having some help as it can get tricky cutting out the fabric

perfect for any time - winter, spring summer or fall. great table runner.
