OK, just be aware of what is filling the pages.
As someone only having access to static analysis, I selected this book because only 1 chapter was devoted to non-static. Where I was a bit disappointed was the number of pages devoted to being a primer in Solidworks CAD. However if you are a beginner in both CAD and Simulation then this is ideal. I was also disappointed in the numbers of pages wasted in repetition. I mean by the time you get to the 13th chapter of exercises you really shouldnt need to once again devote 2 full pages on how to open the Simulation module. The author was also, IMO, overly concerned with, as he says, the design engineer being responsible for doing approximate calculations, as a sanity check against Simulation results, and once again therefore, IMO, dedicated too many pages to the manual calculation of the exercises as a check. Who in reality these days has the time and can put in the effort to do that? In an ideal world such as in academia - sure. So had all these pages been removed I might have shied away from the price of the book versus a perceived lack of content. Perhaps that was the point. Still, if you are both a CAD beginner, a Simulation beginner, are interested in the mathematical theory and calculations behind FEA, and mainly interested in Static analysis, then this is not a bad reference.
