Nice compositions but not as good as his earlier works

braun is a different type of horn player,with night walk,we have a slow intenional horn,in a light rain,pehaps a fog,empty streets.changes are the key word im looking for.one set hes muted,the next and open horn,his changes are jazz orintated!this is not normal for braun to improvise!!a haunting melody,beautiful.makes you feel the mood hes in,but he doesnt drag a song out to long...i bought the album on impulse.i was very suprised,most of ricks stuff for the most part is the same.at first he was very novel.it didnt last.im a jazz listner,and i can tell you this album is worth the price of admission!ive gone on his facebook page,i keep posting him why wont you play a jazz album in a traditional manner.just one,i begged him to give it a shot ,a fine trumpter like you!i never got and awnser,but i somewhat got my wish with this. fianly,the rythem section!!!10 for 10!they are fantastic,especialy the piano player!!!dave karasony,never heard of him,yet out of many songs he made braun awesome.i would give this album 4.5 out of 5.you can sit and want to listen to this album,not put it in for background music.this is like a post-script,there are a few light upbeat tunes also,just to round the album out.
