M.F.K. Fisher's Provence

Enjoyable, makes me hungry and yearning for more free time to both read more and cook more.

A wonderful combination of beautiful, evocative photographs by Ms. Ah Tye and excerpts from many of Fisher's classic essays that fully captures the spirit of Provence and Aix. If you've ever spent time in this part of France and wished you could bring some of that Provence magic back home with you, this is the book that will do that.

I became besotted with MFK Fisher years ago and this book is a great addition to my collection of Fisher tomes. Miss Ah-Tye has captured Aix, Fisher's first abode in France, in a unique and valuable way. Her pictures provide a glimpse of what MFK saw and experienced while there.I recommend this book to fellow Fisher devotees.

This book is a jewel ... the photographs evoke beautiful memories of Aix-en-Provence and Marseilles for anyone who has spent time there. Thoughtfully selected vignettes take you to the important things in Provence that don't change. A wonderful gift for the holidays.

Aileen Ah-Tye has the eye and talent to make M.F.K. Fisher's special places come alive. I love France and Aileen's pictures make me want to explore more sites! A talented photographer!! and "Yes", she is my cousin.

The beautiful pictures in this book book make me feel like Ive been transplanted to France. It's a real treat for the eyes and my coffee table!

Expected a lot more - images like a dated calendar

This book transports me back to Provence with its scents and sights. A visual treat!

just a series of photos, none very interesting, with very little text by Fisher. Not as expected .

This is very disappointing. The credits are in the wrong order: it's a book of photographs, with tiny fragments of text by MFK Fisher. If you're after her writing, don't buy this.
