Want to undwind at the end of the day? Put the Relaxease glasses on, sit down and turn them on. Pulsating light guides you towards deep relaxation, a great distraction from your busy world. At the turn of the century, the French psychiatrist, Pierre Janet, noticed that when patients at the Salpetriere Hospital in Paris were exposed to flickering light, they experienced reductions in hysteria and increases in relaxation. When modern, scientific research into effects of rhythmic light and sound began, scientists discovered that electrical rhythms of the brain tended to mimic the rhythm of a flashing light stylus. British neuroscientist W. Grey Walter used an electronic strobe and advanced E.E.G. equipment to investigate what he called the "flicker phenomenon", he found that rhythmic flashing light quickly altered brain wave activity, producing profound relaxation and vivid mental imagery. Today, scientists call this principle "ENTRAINMENT." RelaxEase is not intrusive and follows the same natural principles used by "Ptolemy", to create an effective brain entrainment device. Everything is in the glasses, so there are no wires to untangle, no bulky attachments. Take them to work, on vacation, on business trips, or anywhere you want. Enter deep alpha / theta states in minutes! Relaxease comes with built-in brightness and frequency control (3-11Hz), so you can adjust them to fit your sensitivity. The timer can be set to 15, 30, or 60 minutes. Uses 4 AAA batteries (not included). Note: RelaxEase is designed for relaxation only, and is not intended as a treatment for any medical illness. Epileptics, photophobics, pregnant women or those wearing heart pacemakers should consult their physician before using.

Can be life changing for ADD
Not sure if they modified the frame since the older reviews, but mine were sturdy and well-made - I woudn't try to sleep with them, but there are soft fabric ones that aren't self-contained if you need that. Light sound Neurotherapy seems to be very effective for me, and these are the only option if I want LSN in the secure government facility where I work. I have felt nosepads and rechargeable lithium batteries, which are half the weight of alkalines and really lighten the glasses. Yes the LEDs are only at one point for each eye, the idea is you close your eyelids and the red fills your vision area, no one wants to stare open-eyed at a light source and it would be unhealthy I think.I wish the frequency wheel was calibrated better than theta to the left/alpha to the right, but the highest setting seems to be about 13 Hz, this is the top end of the alpha and just what I need. I too have a phone app for the audio portion, and I have recorded it to mp3 so it's easier to access. I will most likely buy a second pair because they are a unique product and only available from one manufacturer, and my daughter who has ADD as well can use them while I have a pair at work. If I can catch about 20 mins a day I am pretty clear-headed and engaged.

These work for me!
These glasses are a good value, cost-wise, to see if brainwave entrainment with light works for you. They were not too heavy for me, batteries easy to install, and worked as advertised. They have a timer and speed and brightness controls, all easy to maneuver and working as advertised. I appreciated the blue plastic that protected the lenses from scratching during shipping. And, they arrived one day earlier than expected - thanks, USPS!There is some non-junk science that supports the theory that brainwave activity tends to mirror flickering light, and that sound produces similar effects. I use these glasses with a paid Apple app from The Unexplainable Store (hey, I didn't name the company!) and their programs for relaxation and sleep. I'm not interested in the Unexplainable Store's "new age-y" offerings, but their sleep apps have been effective for me. The light from these glasses plus audio binaural beats for 15 minutes = relaxing, deep sleep for FIVE straight hours, which is remarkable for me. Someday I may upgrade to one of the more expensive combo light-sound machines that are offered, but for now this is really effective for me. Will be interested to see how husband, who's been meditating for years, reacts to them.I would have given five stars had the package included both the one-year limited warranty card and nose pads that are mentioned in the company's brochure that accompanies the product. The Amazon.com rep (Julie B) who answered my email - within a few hours after I sent it, thank you for five star service, Julie B! - told me that Amazon has asked the manufacturer to update the brochure, but it hasn't happened yet... one way to keep the price of this good product stable, but leads customers to expect a few things will be in the package that aren't, as another reviewer mentioned. Amazon has a record of the purchase, so I am not worried regarding to the warranty, but the seller shouldn't overpromise either.A big thanks to all Amazon.com customer service reps who are the best at providing quick, useful answers to questions from their customers. Consistently, the best online merchant I've shopped with. They rock.

Great substitute for price!
Love this product! If you go to or have gone to Positive Changes you need to purchase this. Not exactly like the high end ones they have at the center but these are a great substitute for the price!

Serves its purpose, works
The quality I expected for the price. Works fine. Much more bulky & heavy than high end wired one due to batteries. Wish they operated off of a light weight watch style battery as opposed to 4- AAA batteries. This would make much more comfortable for wearer.

Not the greatest but not bad for the price
The arms broke after a few uses but it still works when the client is lying down. And the light intensity is super bright even on the lowest setting. But it's working well otherwise.
