The pre-tinning on these things is perhaps nickel. It results in impervious soldering tips. Any time your solder tip looks ugly, wipe it on a wet sponge, put some solder and flux on it, wipe it on the sponge again, and it's as good as new!

I purchased these to go with a Hakko soldering iron. I really liked that they had a few fine-tipped irons because I needed to solder some 0.65mm pitch components. When I turned up my iron to 750, I was still getting cloudy soldering joints. I replaced the tip with the Hakko brand tip that came with the iron, and the difference was unbelievable. From what I've read, the way they are compatible with so many irons is because they're simply too big. The size directly affects heat transfer, so these irons were functionally useless for what I needed. Won't be using these anymore, instead I will only be buying name brand irons that are build specifically for my iron.

They look thinner than they are. Decent 3rd party hakko tips. They fit a yihua 995D.
