EVOC BIKE BAG lightweight bike transport bag

Works Perfectly
I've never flown with my bike before, so I decided to get this so I can check it as baggage. Everything is high quality material, I have no concerns about it breaking over the next couple of years. The wheels are easily replaced as well, unlike a lot of other luggage bags.I have an XL Trek Dual Sport 1, and I thought it was gonna be a tight fit, but with the seat post off, it fits in the bag perfectly with plenty of room to spare. This bag also came with the frame pad, which would be awesome if I hadn't already spent the money for another one.Since it's a hybrid bike, it basically has a road bike frame, which means you'd need the road bike frame mount from EVOC to properly secure it in place, but I'm just going to use the provided block for now since it's a beater bike. That's just a heads up for another $140 or so you'll have to spend for that frame mount.Overall, I have zero doubts on the quality of this bag, and it definitely will make travelling with a bike easy, but I would take the extra steps of removing your calipers, derailleurs, and brake rotors and securing them somewhere else inside the bag, because it'll probably have multiple bags stacked on top of it in the cargo compartment of an airplane while its laying on its side.Update: I flew with the Dual Sport, bought a new Domane AL3, and flew back with it with this bag. Zero issues at all, the bikes arrived safely each time. My only suggestion is to add wheels to the front, because the very bottom part of the front was scraped and splitting at the seams after just 1 flight, thanks to the baggage handlers. Putting 2 small wheels on the front so it can roll more easily, and not confuse the baggage handlers would be perfect. Otherwise, I'll be using this bag again.

What we expected
Haven’t had a chance to use it yet, but it came quickly and looks solid.

Excellent bike bag
Easy to pack, easy to transport. Nimble on it's wheels. Flew my bike to Italy and back with no headaches. Fit easily in small European vehicles. Fair warning: My bike arrived home with two loose spokes--this probably wouldn't have happened with a hard-shell case, but everything about packing and traveling with this case was so easy that I am still giving it four stars. I might have been less enthusiastic if the damage had happened on the way to my cycling holiday but it was in perfect condition on the way over.

Seemed like a great bag
I didn't get to use this bag because my trip got cancelled and I sent the bag back. But when I received it and looked it over, it felt like a well made bag. Material was sturdy. Wheels were high quality and I'm sure would have been easy to roll around. It folded down nice and compact for storage. One complaint I had was with the box that EVOC used for shipping. The cardboard was brittle and arrived with gouges and holes, but the bag was undamaged. I'd suggest EVOC use better cardboard for their boxes.

Solid travel investment
Held up very well and was pretty easy to breakdown my bike and reassemble for a flight.I highly recommend taking the rear derailleur off and taping it to your frame for added protection; super easy to screw back on. I also bought the orucase padding for added protection of the frame and bottom bracket, but bubble wrap or conduit padding will do. I recommend this because flight crews are notorious for just throwing bags on flight cargoes. There was plenty space to put other stuff in the bag, too. The Evoc pro has the frame and extra front wheel but I don’t think they’re needed once you get the hand of it.The bag is super easy to maneuver around if you pick it up from the bottom front handle. Great buy and rolls up nicely in my closet to not take up much space. Wish it was at $450 but I’m happy.

Bag seems well designed BUT worst customer service ever and critical accessory out of stock
Got a problem with your bag don't bother to contact Evoc's customer service because they WILL NOT get back to you. Got a problem, it is your problem not theirs. In addition, Evoc recommends that if you intend to use their light weight bag to transport a road bike you you need to buy their bike stand pro, but you cannot buy that accessory since it is generally out of stock through all state side dealers and not even Evoc has the stand in stock, and no word when it might be available again.

Your bike will have a better time than you on the plane
I went almost broke buying this but totally worth it. I wish I could trade my seat with my bike on that flight to Vancouver. My bike is an XS Enduro (Reign-Giant). It fit perfectly in the case and there was plenty of room. So I added my Camelbak, all my biking gears and helmet, 2 pairs of pedals and I know you are not supposed to but I put a lot of my clothes in it too! I checked it in as a bike and paid $50… Yes, Air Canada still charges you for your sport equipment in 2024! The only thing that didn’t fit was my full face helmet. My only call out is when you are putting together the case, those tubes leave splinters of plastic in your hands that last for a week or so. You’d better put on gloves when assembling.
