Bought this because I saw a similar product used on TV. The idea behind the product is great the engineering is terrible. First off the magnet is not strong enough. I actually tried it on a sheet rock screw in the sheet rock holding it to the wall. My tiny disk magnet finds it easily and holds fast. This magnet did not hold. The metal that attaches to the string is not magnetic on both sides. One side pulls the magnet the other repells it. This makes it tough to use when in the wall and spinning around. The Little plastic handle that attaches to the magnet making it easier to slide down the sheetrock is ok but again not strong enough. In short it was a waste of money. Could have used existing string I had, a fishing magnet, and a fender washer. In fact I did and it worked better.

If you have a regular people house made during the existence of man then you’re out of luck. Any material ever used to construct a house will be too thick for these to work. Are your walls made of tissue paper? Then You’re in luck! Although a regular sheet of paper is far too thick for these magnets to work and drywall is impossible I’d imagine tissue paper would be thin enough. Instead of buying these you’d be better off buying several humane mouse traps. Wait as long as it takes to catch one that seems to be a go-getter and has a decent head on their shoulders. Then discuss starting pay rate. Explain this will be a one day job and should take less than a minute. You have far better odds of hiring a mouse to carry your wires thru the wall than having this piece of junk do anything other than frustrate you and waste your time.

Very generic. The magnet is trash. Waste of money shop for something else. Magnet can't even get through 1" drywall.

it does what it should - barely. I was expecting strong magnets that would be useful behind a wall, etc. I would call it "minimally acceptable."

The first time I tried to use this I needed to run the provided pull-string in an insulated wall (Typical US Fiberglass insulation). The magnet could barely be felt through the drywall, and there was no way it was going to overcome the friction caused by the fiberglass. I had to find a completely different solution for running the pull-string down the wall.
