Works great

The construction of this cover is top-notch. The sewing is well-done and the leather is thick with a smooth feel. There is no carrying strap or handle, so all you're getting here is a cover. This isn't a problem if all you require is a means by which you can keep dust and pizza stains off of your bible, but it's a problem if you're looking for something to assist in transporting it. Presuming you would buy it for a larger bible, you're likely talking about a book weighing from 3-5 pounds, which can be a lot of weight to grasp for a small or elderly person. However, my reason for deducting two stars is that the small leather handle broke and separated from the zipper ring attachment the first time I pulled on it to open the cover. It actually took no effort to do so, which indicates to me that there is little or no quality control being performed prior to shipment to the customer. That may not be a problem for 99 percent of owners who are fortunate to receive one that is built well, but if you fall into the latter, less fortunate crowd, you're left with sending it back or attempting a repair. I chose the latter and was able to create a new handle. Anyway, this is a good cover but I wanted to make you aware of these two potential issues. Happy shopping!

While studying this item, called "Large", and the similar "Extra Large" item sold on Amazon, I noted that the Bible dimensions accommodated by this "large" one, 6 7/8" x 9 5/8" are actually bigger than the dimensions given for the extra large one, 6 5/8" x 9 1/2"! And it's not just here, those backward numbers appear also on Zondervan's website for these two items. I received no response to my emails to Zondervan asking for clarification.In the end, we guessed that the numbers were reversed and ordered this one, the "Large", and indeed the tag on it when it arrived says 6 5/8" x 9 1/2". It fits my son's ESV Study Bible (Imitation Leather version) perfectly. He likes that it's simple in design and fits tightly around his Bible, and the only thing he misses from the case on his old, smaller Bible is a handle. In all, we like it!

I did a lot of research for a cover for my new EVS Hardcover Study Bible (9.5 x 6.75 x 2.25). The Bible is considered extra large and finding a cover I liked for something that large was difficult. Most of the covers I looked at included length and width dimensions but not depth so selecting the "right" cover was a bit of a gamble.This cover fits GREAT. Somewhat snug but appears to have enough room for chapter tabs when I add them. The zipper is the best one of the 4 covers I tried. Operates smoothly and seems to be a very solid construction overall. The front cross-like stitching design doubles as a pocket, and there is a zipper pocket in the back seems nice but probably won't hold much. Finally there are two pen holders inside the cover but they're not very functional with a Bible the size of mine. The holders work, and can be used, but my Bible doesn't leave a lot of extra room inside the cover. Probably best to just slip pens and highlights into the outside pockets.Hope that helps others looking for an extra large cover.

The pockets are deep and secure, the zipper is strong and keeps my oversized Bible safe. There is even room for an ink pen or two. As a soundboard operator, I wear a lot of black t-shirts and this looks great, although now I need to buy a matching bomber jacket. Seriously though it is a well-made cover and definitely a good buy.

This cover fits my MacArthur Study Bible perfectly. Amazon lists the dimensions of my bible as 9.5 x 7.1 x 1.8 inches. It has two pockets on the outside of the cover and two pencil holders on the inside.There are only a couple of things that I don't like. Because of how tightly my book fits in the case I can only use one pencil holder. If I add a highlighter or another pencil it will press down the side of the pages. I also wish there were pockets on the inside of the cover inside of on the outside. But other than that, I like this cover a lot. It's a lot nicer and a lot more masculine than any covers I've seen at any of the Christian stores here in town.

I bought this because the old bible my late wife gave me was showing it's age but I still like it. The pictures look pretty good. When I got it I was a little disappointed with the appearance. To create an aged look, they seem to have smeared something white all over it leaving it in the crevices. And it is stiched in white. It is not bad, some may like its appearance, but it is not what I would have picked had I seen it beforehand. It works fine, however, with a zippered outside pocket and an open outside pocket, two loops for pens/pencils inside and flaps to hold the covers of your bible.

My book is 9.5"h x 6-3/8"w x 1-7/8"d and this cover fits great. It looks to be extremely well made and it is very elegant.The horizontal seam you see on the picture is actually a nice pocket for storing things. On the back there is a nice zippered pocket. There are two spots inside to store a pencil/pen -- one near the front cover and one near the back cover. The zipper that goes around the cover to close it up is well-made.Good value for the money. It is a substantial cover. I'm impressed with it.

It fit my Thompson Chain KJV PERFECTLY!! I didn't care that this case didn't have the handle on the spine, I never use those anyway, because when I did use it in the past, it would create a crease in the middle of both front and back covers of the Bible, making it ugly and thus had to keep in in the case, so I'm very glad this case did not have that and I could either leave it in this cover or take it out to switch cases with no sign of ever being inside a Bible cover. I like that a lot. Very good quality and stitching. I highly recommend this if you don't want to pay for a Bible cover that costs more than your Bible, and the good thing about this cover is, if you don't like it, keep it and use it for another Bible you may own and get a more expensive one which makes no sense because this Bible cover is good enough and I sealed mine with mink oil so it's basically rainproof or splashproof when transporting it. Has both front and back pockets which I don't really use but they both can fit small notebooks, like the thin Dollar store kind. I like this case and I'm glad I bought it.

I purchased this and the NIV Life Application Study Bible (also from Amazon) as a Christmas gift for my husband. This cover is sturdy, nice looking and keeps the bible clean and safe. It fits the bible I purchased perfectly, but always check sizing to make sure it will fit your bible.
