I'm a happy camper. I have this mounted by sticking the included base to my windshield above the center of my dash. I have a Galaxy S8+ (yes, plus) and I'm able to drum on the phone with it stuck to the mount and it doesn't wobble off, slide down, and the pivot joint resists letting the angle droop. I think it's going to work quite well. Let me be clear: I did not need to use the included metal rings. The wireless charge coil inside the S8+ is enough to stay on this mount.As the description states: it doesn't fast charge, I wasn't able to find anything like this mount that does.The only reason I can't give this 5 stars is the LED IS SO BRIGHT!! If your phone is on it you won't see it, but it is impossible to ignore if it isn't covered up. I'm probably going to put a piece of electrical tape or something over it. Maybe a sticker or something.The clip, if you choose to use that on your vent, has a lot of grip. I can't imagine there being any issues with it. I plan on taking my dash apart and routing the cable to have a slick, semi-permanent install. The cable is just a micro-USB into the mount so you don't have any proprietary stuff to worry about.

This charger is fickle and does not charge phone without being perfectly centered. It also slips down while driving and the actual unit has come off the dash attachment.Customer service contacted me and wanted me to send a video of unit not working. Unfortunately I do not have another phone to take a video of this not working while my phone is mounted to this unit. As of now the unit is so loose it does not stay up at all with the phone on it. Such a shame to spend money on something that has not worked right from beginning and is now not working at all. Would have been a great gadget otherwise.

It does its job but there are a few gripes I have.1. I have an iPhone 8 and it does not charge very fast at all. Not good if you need to charge up quick.2. I use the little magnetic ring it comes with and there is little leeway for whether or not it charges. You have to put it on just right, you can just toss your phone on the charger real quick and go. The ring also makes my case bulge a tiny bit but I guess that is to be expected.3. It can get pretty warm. I'm not a crazy expert but I'm pretty sure that's not great for your phone. If you take it on long trips w=you might have to charge for a little while, then unplug it (I'm assuming the magnet would still work though).4. It's a little pricey but it is well-made and if you can deal with the gripes mentioned above you'll be fine. When I bought mine, there weren't a lot of other options out there and I didn't want a cheap one.Other than that it holds the phone phone nicely and does not fall off the air vent.

Use it every time I get in my truck. I had to get a thinner phone protector for the magnet to work properly. It has never fallen off since then. It charges my phone while I drive. I mounted to dash where it is up high and can see while I drove . Would buy again.

The vent clip would stay in the vent, When it fell off, it appeared to have damaged the connector and will not work any more.Also the rotating socket loosened and would not keep my Samsung S7 from titling down. There was no way to tighten that up.The money spent was a waste.

I sent this item back. It advertised that it had a strong magnet, but when I tried it out, it would not hold my Galaxy S7 Edge with a case on it. I believe that most of us have a case on our smartphones to protect them and mine is not that heavy duty a case. To have to take the case off every time you got in your car was just more work than I wanted to go through.

Product pictured is not what I received; LED isn't as diffused as it is in picture, and the logo isn't what you see in the picture here. Other than that, seems to work alright so far. Would be nicer if they offered metal rings that matched the colors of most phones - instead of using blue.

I just bought this for my s7. I found that i needed the magnetic ring to make it work with my otterbox commuter case on (or whatever the thin otterbox case is). If you use it on your vent, beware that running the heat will cause the charger to think your phone is overheating and stop charging. Not a design flaw...i imagine itd happem with any wireless charger.
