Alveo Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper (Full Size)

I took a chance and purchased this memory foam mattress topper before any reviews were posted. The listing did not mention the density of the foam, but this king-size topper was listed as substantially heavier (at 23lbs.) than the other 2" king-size pads I had considered, so I gave it a shot.Foam density is measured in weight per cubic foot. I can confirm that the pad lives up to its advertised size of 76L x 80W x 2H inches which makes for just over 7 cubic feet of foam. The advertised weight was also pretty close to the listed 23 pounds, so this the density of this pad is a bit over 3lbs. This means that those other 2" king-size pads that claim to be 3lb density (or more!) yet list their shipping weight at about 14 pounds are simply lying to us.All the weights and measures aside, I purchased this topper to give a bit more squish to the top of our aging TempurPedic that has always been rather firm. This topper, combined with this simple mattress pad to keep in in place  Quilted Fleece Mattress Pad (King) - Mattress Cover Stretches up to 16 Inches Deep - Fleece Mattress Topper and Mattress Protector by Utopia Bedding  certainly softens things up a bit. However, we're finding the new combination to be rather warm, although that's not necessarily a bad thing since it's easy to adjust the amount of covers we use.My only minor negative comment was that the edges of the topper were discolored, as if they had been exposed to sunshine for too long, although this doesn't seem to have affected it's function, and we'll almost never actually see the pad again. At the time of my purchase, this item had the best price among reasonably dense memory foam mattress toppers available for Prime delivery. I feel like we got our money's worth, and probably more than we would have with many of the other toppers available at higher prices.

Seems like very high quality foam. For someone who likes a very firm mattress, and is historically not at all fond of "memory" foam, this resulted in a more comfortable sleep and saved me from having to buy a completely new mattress. Doesn't seem to sleep much warmer than before, and is much easier on the shoulders.

I guess you get what you pay for. It helps a little but gets a bit too firm in colder temps. I would recommend a thicker mattress topper as well. My girlfriend has a 4 inch topper (different brand) and it makes a big difference.

This topper took away my hip back back pain. I have a lumbar back fusion and hip replacement and a side sleeper no pain any where. It stays cool too the only thing is when my wife and i seam to sink into a slight pocket cause we sleep snuggled next to each other. But we can live with that better then sleeping with pain this topper is soft, it sat in other room for 24 hours and was ready to go very pleased with it

The best sleep I never had. I don't know how I ever sleep without it. Now I will not be in a rush to leave town for vacation, and sleep anywhere else but home. It helped clear by back pains I had and I feel great!

Very uncomfortable. Like being trapped on a sponge you can’t roll out of. No support you sink to the bottom and then your stuck there needing a lot of effort to roll out.

Finally getting a good night sleep again

I got a firm mattress and woke with a back ache every morning after I put the memory foam on the bed I am mediately was relieved of the morning back ache
