Timmy's Monster Diary: Screen Time Stress (But I Tame It, Big Time) (Volume 2) (Monster Diaries)

It’s hard to get my son to read, but he LOVES this series, and it has tips and tricks in it to help kids with adhd, so he is using those tips and tricks at school and in life.

My daughter has Autism and ADHD and she hates reading but read this book in one day and has reread it several times. She loves it and says it helps her use screen time better on her own.

My son really enjoyed Marvin's Monster Diary, so I purchased this one, hoping it would encourage him to think about his tendency to spend all day on his tablet or watching tv. The story was indeed geared that direction. Marvin makes appearances, the drawings are still very engaging, the character is relatable, the advice seems functional (and my son actually wanted to make an ST4 badge this morning, which I would have encouraged if he wasn't supposed to be getting ready for school). My son is now asking me to buy him more Monster Diary books ASAP. He's already asked multiple times, and he only got and read (with me) this book yesterday! In fact, he wanted me to read it a second time, but I wasn't up for that yesterday-I will soon, though!

This book is phenomenal. My 7 year old chose to read this over playing with toys while we were on a trip. Great story line that helped him with understanding his ADHD.

Like most boys his age, my 10-year-old son loves to play video games. One of the biggest challenges is teaching him to play in moderation. He flew through this book in one afternoon and said he liked it. After I read it, I understood why. He could relate to the character. It's hard to get other things done--and do those things well-- when we're constantly distracted by electronic devices. This book offers an opportunity to talk about the importance of moderation and the value of living well-rounded lives without electronics becoming an anchor around our necks. This book not only tells an entertaining story with fun graphics that appeal to kids, it also offers wonderful resources to parents.

I am not a mother, but i have several nieces and nephews who abuse their screen time! After having them read this book they loved it! Really seemed to help them realize the importance of self-monitoring their screen time. The book was easy for them to read and related to them in a playful manner!

What a wonderful resource. This book is thoughtful, entertaining, and provides a plan of action that makes sense and works. It is a must read for any parent with a smartphone. Thank you, Dr. Melmed, for showing us all the way forward.
