Excellent
The product itself looks superb and I've no doubt I will be very pleased once I start to use. (currently got a supermarket one on the go)Why am I reviewing now? - partly to say what the ingredients are: anchovies and salt. No added sugar and no shellfish (Important for me as I'm allergic to some of them). Bought 21 April 2016, expiry date 12 Nov 2018, so plenty of time to use. Size: 17 fl oz, or 525ml, rather than the 500ml advertised (I'm not complaining).Reviewing the packing in a review of the product is frowned on but this is such a difficult product to post that packing virtually becomes as important as the product itself - I bought solely because it was being sent by Amazon UK so I knew outer packing would be good; the seller was an Alabama company called Friday 515 who presumably are responsible for the inner packing: bottle well sealed, placed in a sealed plastic bag, (so any spillage would have been contained), triple taped bubble wrapping, all inserted in a heavy duty well fitting box. Perfect.I think it is going to be well worth what I paid.Edit: I'm allergic to shellfish, but not all. I 'tested' (ate a small amount!) of anchovy prior to using regularly and I'm OK no reaction. If you are allergic to shellfish you may or may not be allergic to anchovies.Edit: Now using, high quality, not sure its going to last me as long as I thought, as I'm finding it a useful addition to several types of meals. Yet to try in scrambled eggs! Its not as fishy smelling as other reviews led me to believe and there is no fishy taste in any completed meals.

My go to fish sauce
I'm so glad there are people selling this on Amazon as this stuff is amazing and lasts forever. The flavour is nice and strong with a hint of sweetness. Great for a variety of Vietnamese dishes I've tried. I also make this ginger-scallion sauce for Cantonese poached chicken where I replace the soy sauce with this and it's divine! (Just put 'ginger-scallion sauce' into a search engine and I'm sure you'll find it)

A proper fish sauce.
Wonderful flavour. I will never buy a mass produced “fish sauce” again. This tastes of something that has been made with care and the best ingredients. Using this in dressings is like using a premium balsamic vinegar or olive oil. All of the commercially available “fish sauce” in either supermarkets or oriental stores in then north east of England do not come close. Worth every penny.

Stunning taste
Beautifully rounded taste. The quality of this is so good you don't have to use much and can keep the other flavours light and simple.

This really is a fine fish sauce
You can tell by smelling and tasting it straight up - it is by far got a lot of umami than the typical cheaper brands. The only downside really is... it's quite expensive. But for quality, and the extra work people have put in to make this product, I think it's worth it.I would use it in dipping sauces as that's where you'll get to taste it the most. If you're making Tom Yum Soup and you have a lot of flavours going on anyway (e.g. using shrimp heads to make stock) I think it would be sensible to just use the cheaper versions to give it that thai fish sauce kick.

Incredible Flavour
You might think "Fish sauce is fish sauce, right?" Just a commodity kitchen staple that adds depth of flavour to dishes. But you'd be wrong. Red Boat fish sauce is in a whole other league. It's hard to find the words for the incredible flavour of this product. And with no added 'nasties', it's the perfect addition to your kitchen cupboards if you're following a Paleo / Bulletproof lifestyle. Highly recommended.

Game changer!
I love fish sauce... Any fish sauce.Even the cheap ass stuff. This is undoubtedly a good one. Is it with it for the money? For me.. well maybe. I'd probably buy a mid price one because let's be honest this is expensive!BUT.. my husband.. Who HATES fish sauce with a passion.... (he can detect a molecule of the stuff at 5,000 meters).... loves this stuff!! It's like a miracle. All of a sudden I can make all the Dips I want and chuck it in cooking as seasoning! Today is a good day!Basically it's fish sauce with all the umami but almost no "funk".Highley recommended for fish sauce haters everywhere! I'm ordering another bottle!

Vietnamese not thai
Much richer flavour but if used in Thai cooking it doesn't quite taste right
