wenger GA-7357 Backpack
Wenger GA-7357-02 Carbon 17 Inch Mac Backpack - BlackI use a back pack daily, and also travel overseas and use it as hand-luggage on airplanes. The Wenger replaces a trusty bag that I've used for about 10-years, but is a very much better design.Things I like:- The pockets accept a 13" Macbook pro, and an Ipad (both have soft-cases), charger / cables, security cable, adapters, iphone and cable. Value in excess of £2000.- There is also room for paper work in three or four cardboard folders to a thickenes of at least 10cms.- In addition there are eight internal pockets (some zipped) that make a safe, but accessable place for slim items, plus pen tubes and a key-ring. I can add the usual travellers things (underpants, socks, toothbrush, razor) without any effort.- The base is sturdy and doesn't flop over when on the floor.- There are two looops at the top, one of which is a sturdy metal handle for easy carrying or lifting.- The shoulder straps are strong, and adjustable, and the surface that sits on one's back is padded and shaped for comfort.- The materials are high quality, and very durable. (The same stuff as my old one, that has lasted without a fault).I agree with the comment that the size may not take a 17" laptop. If this is important to you, then order it on a try-and-return basis.I think this is a super bag. I've inspected and rejected a number of expensive brands, because they didn't suit my needs, or they were over-priced. This bag is well designed, looks good, is sturdy and durable, and good value for money. I anticipate that I will use it every day for years to come. The supplier was "Tigerbags" who provided excellent service.

Well made and improved
I bought a similar rucksack from this company about 7 years ago. It served me very well but pretty much had worn it out. This replacement is stronger, more rigid and has improved design features. It's very sturdy and stands on its own with a weatherproof underneath made of tough plastic. The zips seem strong and well sewn in. My only reservation is sometimes the teeth have misaligned when I zipped it up. It hasn't jammed at all but it's something I'm aware of and I will keep an eye on it. Great value, perfect size.

The perfect backpack
I purchased this backpack last year for the start of college and have been extremely happy with it so far, no a single fault in my opinion I have used this backpack for both college and for traveling and it is still going strong. Not a hint of a tear or rip so far and I usually have the bag packed, especially when I have used it for traveling...and I have packed the backpack tight and very heavy. With all the weight, it still feels comfortable with the padded back and shoulder straps. My laptop (Samsung 700Z Series 7 Chronos 17.3-inch Laptop) fits perfectly in the back compartment, with the flap going over and attaching to the velcro perfectly and the zips closing easily. All the additional features are true: stands upright, airflow to back, decrease strain on back and shoulders, has plenty of space for laptop, books, etc,, plenty of pockets and room, etc.One or two have commented about the weight, it is a little heavier than most, but you are paying for quality material, plus it still feels comfortable, and fits perfect on the back/shoulders.You are getting a great bag that is very durable and well made that feels comfortable to carry and has more than enough room for a 17 inch laptop with plenty of space and pockets for everything else!

Feel like my laptop is safe
My last rucksack with a laptop compartment has lasted me since 2006, and although I still loved it, trying to fit in a 15” laptop was a bit of a pain and an elastic strap over the top half of the laptop was definitely not going to suit my new Apple MacBook Pro 16”, with the tension problems that have been reported due to the thinner screen.I saw this Wenger rucksack in Currys and really liked it - I liked the robust handle on the top, the padded back panel and the envelop sleeve for the laptop - much better for my new fragile machine than an elastic strap! However I wasn’t too keen on the price - it might have been the last one in the shop but it was still £80.I went home and had a google at best rated laptop bags for the new MacBook Pro and all of them were a) flimsy messenger back types that didn’t actually look at all protective and b) had no compartments for the power cord or external hard drives or my SuperDrive etc -so basically useless.I ended up going back to the Wenger 17” backpack and reading up on it on Amazon - I hadn’t noticed that it had a built in frame in the bottom to make sure that the bag stays upright (the bag was so light didn’t even know it was there) which I thought was a definite plus in its favour. I checked online and Curry’s was sold out online. What other retailers that had it in stock were charging £80 or £100+, whereas Amazon was £70.I looked at the Wenger Legacy MacBook Pro 16” model and to be honest it just didn’t look as good. The top handle didn’t look as strong and from the pictures it didn’t have the same envelope style storage for the laptop (looks like a padded pocket with a strap over - NOT good for a laptop with such a fragile screen)Thinking that the Wenger Carbon MacBook Pro 17” was obviously designed for the 17” MacBook Pro (hence the name) and Apple don’t make them anymore - if they sell out then I’d be stuck as they won’t be making them anymore, and it’s highly likely that other new MacBook owners would be thinking along the same lines as me, I decided to fork out the £70.I am so glad I did! I was happy with it as soon as it arrived, and after being in other shops comparing prices and seeing what the quality is like of other bags, I definitely feel I made the right choice! If you’re lucky enough to find one available - yes it is a lot of money for what is essentially a rucksack - but consider the value of your machine.
