Spanish for Beginners (Usborne Language for Beginners) (Language for Beginners Book)

I wanted these to teach myself Spanish and thought if I started "like a child" it would help.Unfortunately whoever wrote these has misinterpreted what "flashcards" are. The word is written above the picture. Now the idea of flashcards is that you look at the picture, say the word, then turn it over to see if you were right. I just keep reading the word, so I'm never going to learn. I have given them to my friend for her grandchildren to play with.

Good sturdy quality and lovely illustrations, but not sure they are actually that useful as a teaching aid, this is due to the fact that the translations are on the same side as the Spanish word which kind of defeats the point of flash cards. You could put a finger over the word I suppose. Both sides have a different picture and word so maximum use has been made of the space meaning you get more vocab for the no. of cards.

I agree with the other reviews about having the Spanish and English on one side stops you from being able to play revision games with them although we have been reading them at breakfast and my toddler is improving her English while I improve my Spanish which was an unexpected bonus.

my spanish teacher uses these so we decided to but them and practice at home.. i find them really helpful, they have the translation, at the bottom and also how to pronounce great item for any spanish beginner

lovely cards easy to use

Excellent for children and adults alike to start learning Spanish. Very basic if you are seeking something more academic.

I and my 3 year old son have used these cards for the past 2 months. It makes studying fun. My son loves them and he learnt quite a few words already. One cannot last with just a textbook when you study a foreign language-you need to add more dimensions to it.
