We are about to embark on keeping pet chickens and wanted a book that explained the basics...it does exactly that. Clear and easy to understand and has some good tips and information. Now looking forward to the arrival of our feathered friends.

A good first chicken book with lot of great pictures, interesting information and a good overview on raising chickens that's put together well. If you're completely new to it, you might need an additional book (or do more research on the internet).

This book has wonderful ideas about all different kinds of coops, the actual keeping of chickens, and other useful tip about having your own pet chickens, even in an urban setting. I am very pleased with this book!
