A handy item to have if you still want to used kitchen items that are not induction hob compatible
This heat diffuser has saved me a lot of money. I have recently had a new kitchen fitted with an induction hob. This ment I could no longer use my vegetable steamer or coffee maker. A family ment suggested one of these and it ment I did not have to purchase a new steamer or coffee maker. It is not as efficient as having induction comparable items becuase the diffuser has to heat up before enough heat is transferred. However, it did safe me over £80.

Ideal for job!
Great product: I've had an induction hob in my motorhome for a couple of years now, but, when my trusty Rayburn packed up recently and I brought the hob into the house to use, I realised my "house" pans weren't suitable. Not having a lot of space to add the 'van pans to my cupboard, I bit the bullet and sent for the heat diffuser as a short term measure. I have to say, it's done the job beautifully. The only thing I would mention is that, as you can probably imagine, it kind of makes it more like an "ordinary" electric hob, i.e. the converter heats up and holds the heat - so not quite so instantly controllable as the induction hob when used with the appropriate pans (although still better than most electric hobs I've used). However, as most of us would be considering it as an interim measure (after all, why buy an induction hob if you don't intend to get/use the appropriate cookware?) I would have to say, it's ideal!By the way, I've been using it for over a month now as we live in the west coast of Scotland and Rayburn engineers are few and far between! I think that's a reasonable length of time for a review (although if I'd know it would take so long, I'd have just swapped the pans over in the first place!)!

Can damage your induction hob plate
The product works fine and can’t fault it. However the biggest issue is that the first time I used it, the heat created caused browning of the plate and then discolouration and deposits on the hob plate. As this was brand new induction hob, I was very upset as it was so unslightly. After doing research it is clear that whilst these converter plate works, it is not as efficient as an induction compatible pan. Also because it is sitting on the hob and transmitting the heat, the heat also goes down into the glass coating of the hob plate. It is in my opinion better therefore to pay for a new pan than ruining the hob. Of course if you have an expensive collection of non-compatible (say copper) pans then you may choose differently.I have also found the best way to clean the induction hob plate is using baking soda, white vinegar to activate it. Let the paste sit for a few minutes and gently rub with a non-scratch scour pad.

A good temporary solution
Does the job, but can take a while for your own to heat up. Also produces some funny buzzing sounds on my induction hob! Will upgrade all my pans up some point. It’s a good stop gap.

Not good
My hob kept turning off when i tried to use this - as if its over heating. The pans took a long time to heat up. I binned it - bwtter to invest in induction pans I think.

ok but depends on use.
not such a good product. It just rusts and the induction hob doesnot accept it mosttly and starts giving out errors.. discretion is adviced when you buy this product.
