Thick and Bulky Collars
After receiving these barrel thread protectors I realized they are very thick walled and heavy duty. Quality of threads and material are fine. Just didn't realize there thickness protrudes away from rifle barrel and may catch on things. If you want a thin streamline application these are not what you are looking for. Maybe they would come closer to a varmint or bull barrel specs.

Thread quality
I purchased two packages. One of the thread protectors would not go on a standard 5/8x24 threads. One of the 1/2x28's would not thread on. Inspecting them I could see that the internal threads themselves were buggered up.

Works but bulky
Nothing wrong with threads, only con is they are bulky on the end.

1/2x28 Adapter did not fit. Defective threading
One of the threaded adapters did not thread on properly. Did not want to take a chance on damaging my barrel. The second one slid right on. The other looked to be poor machined by just looking at it. The larger one looked ok.

Great thread protector
Handy to have around the shop when folks are always looking for an extra thread protector for their rifle. Value is great for the 4 pack.

You get what you pay for
The 5/8x24 are super thick and the threads are dinged up with chunks of metal in them. The 1/2 aren't as bad but I still have to clean up the threads. Not the worst I've seen but you might as well spend a little extra money on some better thread protectors.
