Does the job well
Great so far. I have had them on my racks for a couple months now and no signs of rust or wear. Use these to haul my 10 footer. Personally I wouldn’t go much bigger than that.

Built very well
the reefs J Hooks are built very well come with extremely good straps. I like them so well I ordered another set

Good quality for smaller boats
Good quality construction, but attachment to square bar across members seems a bit flimsy. Mounted on my truck topper it's a bit too tall for ease of securing my 52 lbs. sit-on-top kayak, it will be fine for my iSUP or smaller boats.

Love these.
They fit my 2013 Ford Escape Titanium well! Not much wind noise either.

The rack is not wide enough for a old town sportsman 120 to fit down in the racks

Solid, Sturdy and Easy to Use
These are well made and very sturdy. Very easy to attach. The foam around the posts is very dense and will hold up to a lot of abuse. These come with an extra set of ties to tie down front and back. They are probably not always needed, but a nice extra especially for longer distance trips.Update (June 7th, 2020): after using these to haul my Kayak around a few times I can say I am really happy with these. I had to purchase a second set from a different manufacturer because I bought a second Kayak and had to haul it home (I already had the first one mounted on this set). Two things stand out about this set over the others. 1) the straps are longer so I am able to get it around the Kayak three times. 2) The fact that the center of the long side is open makes this much easier to get them strapped quickly. My other set has a single piece of foam across both posts on the long side which makes me have to reach around the back of the Kayak to the top of the post to loop the tie. with these I can loop it from the bottom and then lift it over the Kayak. if you haven’t strapped up a Kayak yet, this may be hard to understand why the the design of this set is better, but I definitely get my Kayak tied down quicker with this set and I feel it is more stable.

So scary at first but truly secure for 10ft kayaks.
I have a flatbed truck and always felt safe just tying the kayaks to the side rails and headache rack but I see people flying up and down the highway in small SUVs and two kayaks on top. I always thought how scary! But I finally mounted this on my Nissan Rogue after I ordered crossbars for the built-in side rails. I should mention that if you do not have crossbars and only side rails you need to order some crossbars to mount this to.Anyway, although still just a little nerve-wracking my 10-foot Perception sit on top rides great and this has been perfect for short local lakes and a spur of the moment decision. I just would not trust to my Old Town Loon 12ft sit inside, I couldn't afford to lose on the highway if something came loose or unstrapped. I have seen a mangled kayak on the side of the highway before it does happen. This J-rack is very sturdy and I am happy with the way my kayak sits and feels unmovable.
