A very good camera without bells and whistles
I use this camera in a video studio to replace a Logitech Brio. The camera is manual, with separate adjustments for Iris, zoom, and Focus. The adjustments are fine and sensitive, it takes some time to get used to them, but the focus is perfect when done. The camera does need a lot of light if the depth of field is to be reasonably deep. This depends on the type of filming required. I need around two feet (600mm) of depth of field. I got this as a trial, and at first, I was disappointed as it takes a lot of fine adjustment for a decent picture. Now I am pleased, but the adjustments took a long time to be accurate enough to accept.I will soon order two more to replace webcams that only do digital zoom.It does work with Manycam software. I noticed some other models of this camera specifically say they are not suitable for multi-camera software. This model is, although I have not used it with multiple of these cameras. When I get my other two, I will update this review.I love everything being manual. Many may not. Adjust one adjustment, and the others need readjustment. It does take time for that perfect picture, but it is worth it.It takes me back to pre digital film cameras.

Very crisp images, 35 FPS - though basic instructions
Focussing etc. everything is manual, though there are basic instructions. The manufacturer kindly supplied 4 wall plugs and screws.I’ve been using this on a Win 10 computer, it just plugs in and auto installs, then it is just seen as a webcam, albeit a Hi-res one. This is literally just a camera. You will have to make other arrangements for sound. This high resolution camera has a Sony image sensor, so top quality. I’ve had the camera running at 35 FPS. Using a popular web cam testing service, it states the following “Quality Rating: 26571” to put this into perspective, a standard webcam I use has a rating of 1922.

Industrial style camera that would be good for monitoring or studio use
ELPs 4k webcam is an intriguing solution for computer cameras; I’m not going to call it a webcam as it may be better used as an industrial monitoring camera; you could point it at a dial or gauge and use it to monitor the sensor runs at 30fps. The camera has an all-metal case and is mounted on a pressed metal frame that you can bolt onto something. Or you can flip it over and there is a ¼ 20 camera tripod thread socket. It comes with a USB-A socket; loss of a star in 2021 let alone 2023, though the 3m long cable is a very nice touch. The lens is all manual, a manual zoom and focus control. If you are using it in a studio or industrial setting you can screw them down to stop accidental movement. If you are looking to use it as a webcam there is a manual shutter that you can use to block light. There aren’t any microphones included which is why I’m thinking it might make for an ersatz conference room or second camera in a studio. The image from the 1/2.8 Sony sensor seems to be a step above a lot of webcams I have tried. The colours are good; and it works in low light just fine. I’m going to take it on vacation over the summer and try it out as a timelapse camera; it’s easy to mount on a ball head and records straight to your laptop. 4* for being usb-a otherwise if you want a fixed camera it is very flexible in how you can use it.
